Using Your Content for Internet Marketing

If you are currently marketing your business online and have not put a great deal of thought into the content on your website, you may be making an incredibly costly mistake. The content on your website is invaluable for a number of reasons. First of all it gives visitors to your website their first impression of your business and the products and services you offer. Additionally, well written content can be instrumental in selling your products and services to your potential customers. Finally, the content on your website can influence the size of the target audience you are able to reach by helping to improve your search engine rankings. With your content capable of doing so much, it is clear you should be hiring a professional content writer to assist you writing the copy for your website. This article will delve deeper into the importance of providing accurate, concise and informative content on your website when you are marketing online.

One of the most basic reasons why the quality of the content on your website is so important is because visitors to your website will likely form their initial opinions of your website based on the content on your website. If the copy is poorly written, does not hold the visitors attention and does not promote your products and services well visitors are likely to exit your website without making a purchase. Conversely, if the copy on your website is well written, engages the reader and promotes the products and services you offer the visitor is more likely to investigate the website further to learn more about the products and services and may make a purchase. The content of your website will be one of the aspects of the website which is first noticed by visitors so it is important for this content to be well written.

Well written sales copy can also be very persuasive and may compel visitors to the website to purchase the products or services offered on the website. This is important especially if the main purpose of the website is to sell the products or services. The sales copy should accurately describe the products or services offered, stress the importance of these products and services and compel the visitor to make a purchase. All of this should be done without appearing to be blatantly advertising the products and services. Writing this type of copy can be quite complicated and typically requires hiring a sales copywriter who is experienced and skilled at writing this type of informative and persuasive content. Sales copy written by an amateur or an inexperienced writer will not likely be as effective as copy written by a professional with a great deal of experience in Internet marketing.

Finally the content on your website is very important because it can greatly influence your search engine rankings. This is critical because high search engine rankings help your business to reach a considerably larger audience. Internet users are typically looking for information quickly and want immediate results to their inquiries. Search engines understand this profile and write complicated algorithms which help them to supply the most relevant websites when a user searches for a particular word or phrase. This is important to business owners because Internet users realize the value of search engines and are likely to only visit websites which rank well in the search engines. This includes websites which rank on the first page or two of search results. Your business might sell football jerseys and you may have a well designed website, a superior inventory and excellent prices but if your website does not rank well in search engines you are missing out on a great deal of free advertising. If your website lands on the third page or lower most visitors who search for relevant terms will not likely visit your website because they will have found what they were looking for on earlier pages. This is where the content on your website becomes important. Websites containing content which has been optimized for particular keywords will likely rank well with search engines. Hiring a writer skilled in writing optimized content can help to improve your search engine rankings so you can reach more potential customers.

When is Internet Marketing Worthwhile?

In general the answer to this question is always but the answer is much more involved. Sure Internet marketing is worthwhile but as with any type of marketing it is only worthwhile if it is done well. For example you can spend thousands of dollars on a television marketing campaign but if no one sees your commercials or your commercials do not reach your target audience and generate sales, the advertising was not worthwhile. So perhaps a more appropriate answer to this question would be that Internet marketing is worthwhile when it works. This is a rather vague statement but this article will investigate the issue further and explain how you can make Internet marketing work for your business.

One of the most basic principles of marketing is to make sure you reach your target audience. This is so important because your target audience is the people who are most likely going to be interested in purchasing your products or services. It is much easier to sell your products or services to those who already have an interest in the products and services you have to offer than it is to convince those who are not interested in your products or services at all. As an example consider a business who sells fishing rods. You will want to market your products to those who enjoy fishing either competitively or as a leisure activity because among this audience you are likely to find people who may be interested in purchasing a new fishing rod. It would make sense to place an advertisement for your business on a website selling bait and tackle or a website which organizes fishing trips in exotic locations. Conversely it would not make sense to place your advertisement on a website selling telescopes because you are not likely to reach a large target audience here. There may be some stargazers with an interest in fishing but your advertising dollars and efforts would be better spent placing advertisements with websites more closely related to your business.

Another factor to consider when purchasing advertising space on another Internet website is traffic the amount of traffic the other website receives. This is significant because you want to place your advertisement on a website which is closely related to your own and likely to attract a similar audience but you also want your advertisement to receive a large amount of attention. For this reason it is important for your advertisement to appear on a website which receives a great amount of traffic each month. This will help to ensure your business is getting a great deal of exposure through this advertising.

When it comes to Internet advertising, there is a fine line between great advertising and spam. Some business owners get carried away trying to get as much exposure as possible and can sometimes go overboard and wind up being considered spam. Internet users who see your advertisement in a couple of key locations will likely notice the advertisement and may be compelled to visit your website immediately or may keep your website in mind for future use. However, Internet users who see your advertisement everywhere they look are likely to view your advertisement as spam. This can be harmful because they are not likely to visit your website because they expect it to not be worthwhile.

In any Internet marketing campaign it is important to carefully monitor the results of your marketing efforts and make changes to your campaign as necessary. This is important because you want to make sure your marketing efforts are paying off and the best way to do this is to evaluate the results of your advertising carefully. One way to do this is to place specially coding in each one of your advertisements so you will know which advertisements are generating business for you and which ones are not. You can use this information to decide whether you should modify the ineffective website or stop running these advertisements. If you decide to modify them you will want to continue to monitor the results to determine whether or not the changes made the advertisements more effective.

Why Internet Marketing Does Not Work Without SEO

Search engine optimization (SEO) should be considered a critical element of any Internet marketing strategy. This is important because there is so much which can be gained from SEO in terms of Internet marketing and advertising. Failure to optimize your website for search engines can result in a considerable loss in terms of free advertising which is essentially gained from ranking well with search engines. This article will provide insight into what SEO is and will explain why Internet marketing requires at least some degree of SEO.

SEO optimization is a strategy in which a website is designed to obtain favorable search engine rankings from popular search engines. This may be achieved in a variety of different ways and optimal SEO strategies combine a variety of different strategies to complete one well orchestrated SEO campaign. There are several elements to consider when attempting to optimize your website for search engines. This may include keyword density, prominence, META tags, titles and inbound links. Keyword density is one of the most common SEO strategies and essentially involves using relevant keywords often in the content of a website to demonstrate the relevance of these keywords to the website. This is important because search engines are likely to reward websites with optimal keyword densities with favorable search engine rankings in an effort to provide Internet users with the most relevant websites for particular search terms.

The prominence of keywords should also be considered. This includes how close the keywords are placed to the beginning of the website. The common mistake with this strategy is to believe the first opportunity to incorporate keywords is in the first line of visible text on the webpage. This is not true because search engines crawl the code of a website as opposed to the visible content on the website. This means there are multiple opportunities to incorporate relevant keywords long before the actual visible content on the website. This might include the code for the title as well as the META tags. Business owners who realize the potential for incorporating keyword into the code gain an advantage over competitors who only incorporate keywords into the content on their website.

Another area of concern which is very important for those who are interested in SEO is inbound links. Inbound links are essentially links which reside on other websites and direct traffic to your website. These links are considered important because many search engines place a value on inbound links because they are essentially an example of one website recommending another website. However, when obtaining inbound links it is important to do so from other websites which rank well with search engines because many search engines consider the rank of the original website when determining the value of the inbound link.

Now that we have briefly explained some of the main concept of SEO, we will illustrate why it is important to optimize your website in the first place. SEO is so important because most Internet users highly value the results of search engines and are likely to only visit to ranking websites when they search for a particular keyword. Internet users trust search engines to serve the most relevant content first and are therefore not likely to visit websites which do not fall on the first or second page of search results. This means websites which rank well essentially are receiving a great deal of free advertising from search engines that place their website in a key position. Website owners who do not invest time into optimizing their websites miss out on a great deal of potential web traffic.

Will Internet Marketing Work for Your Business?

This is an extremely difficult question to answer because there are so many complex factors involved. Specifically they techniques you employ in your Internet marketing campaign as well as the execution of these techniques can determine whether or not Internet marketing will work for your business. Additionally, the likelihood of your target audience using the Internet and responding to your marketing efforts should also be considered into the equation. This article will outline the potential for success in an Internet marketing campaign.

Before making the decision to embark on an Internet marketing campaign you should carefully consider your target audience. The Internet is used widely around the world but whether or not members of your target audience are likely to utilize the Internet to research or purchase the products or services you sell is not guaranteed. This is significant because investing a great deal of time, effort and money into Internet marketing when your target audience is not likely to respond to these efforts is not worthwhile.

Conducting market research can do a great deal to help you determine whether or not you should invest in an Internet marketing campaign for your business. This step is very important because it will give you a good indication of whether or not you should even begin marketing your business on the Internet. Hiring a firm specializing in market research is recommended because they can conduct this research quickly and efficiently and will likely gain a great deal of valuable information as a result of their research efforts. If they determine your business can benefit from an Internet marketing campaign, it is time to start thinking about how you want to advertise your business online.

Again, seeking the help of professionals can be an extremely worthwhile investment. If you are not well versed in the industry of Internet marketing, hiring a firm with a great deal of expertise in this industry can be very helpful. They can assist you by consulting with you to determine which marketing strategies will be most effective, designing advertisements for your campaign, helping you to orchestrate your Internet marketing campaign and evaluating the results of marketing efforts to determine which strategies are working and which are not.

The potential for success with an Internet marketing campaign is virtually limitless. The success you enjoy is only limited by your ability to promote your products and services and execute effective marketing strategies. Some of the marketing strategies you may wish to employ may include optimizing your website for relevant search terms, placing links to your website judiciously on the Internet, writing and publishing e-newsletters and utilizing affiliates to promote your website.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the most important aspects of any Internet marketing campaign. SEO is so important because it dictates the ranking of your website on popular search engines. Internet users value these results and are not likely to seek out websites which do not rank well with search engines. Conversely, high ranking websites can enjoy a great deal of increased website traffic as a result of these rankings.

Inbound links to your website are also important in Internet marketing. Inbound links are links on other websites which direct users to your website. These links are important in an Internet marketing campaign. First of all many search engines factor inbound links into their ranking algorithms which means inbound links can result in higher search engines rankings. Also, these links can be used directly by website users to access your website. This means you can gain traffic directly from these links.

Another way to enjoy a successful Internet marketing campaign is to orchestrate an affiliate marketing campaign. Affiliates are essentially website owners who place a banner ad on their website to direct traffic to your website. Typically, affiliates are only compensated when the advertisement on their website produces a desired effect such as enticing the users to click through the advertisement, resulting in a sale or resulting in another action such as filling out a survey or registering with your website. Affiliate marketing can not only be highly effective but it is also cost effective because you only pay the affiliates when they produce results.

Analyzing Website Traffic

Analyzing your web traffic statistics can be an invaluable tool for a number of different reasons. But before you can make full use of this tool, you need to understand how to interpret the data.

Most web hosting companies will provide you with basic web traffic information that you then have to interpret and make pertinent use of. However, the data you receive from your host company can be overwhelming if you don't understand how to apply it to your particular business and website. Let's start by examining the most basic data - the average visitors to your site on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

These figures are the most accurate measure of your website's activity. It would appear on the surface that the more traffic you see recorded, the better you can assume your website is doing, but this is an inaccurate perception. You must also look at the behavior of your visitors once they come to your website to accurately gauge the effectiveness of your site.

There is often a great misconception about what is commonly known as "hits" and what is really effective, quality traffic to your site. Hits simply means the number of information requests received by the server. If you think about the fact that a hit can simply equate to the number of graphics per page, you will get an idea of how overblown the concept of hits can be. For example, if your homepage has 15 graphics on it, the server records this as 15 hits, when in reality we are talking about a single visitor checking out a single page on your site. As you can see, hits are not useful in analyzing your website traffic.

The more visitors that come to your website, the more accurate your interpretation will become. The greater the traffic is to your website, the more precise your analysis will be of overall trends in visitor behavior. The smaller the number of visitors, the more a few anomalous visitors can distort the analysis.

The aim is to use the web traffic statistics to figure out how well or how poorly your site is working for your visitors. One way to determine this is to find out how long on average your visitors spend on your site. If the time spent is relatively brief, it usually indicates an underlying problem. Then the challenge is to figure out what that problem is.

It could be that your keywords are directing the wrong type of visitors to your website, or that your graphics are confusing or intimidating, causing the visitor to exit rapidly. Use the knowledge of how much time visitors are spending on your site to pinpoint specific problems, and after you fix those problems, continue to use time spent as a gauge of how effective your fix has been.

Additionally, web traffic stats can help you determine effective and ineffective areas of your website. If you have a page that you believe is important, but visitors are exiting it rapidly, that page needs attention. You could, for example, consider improving the link to this page by making the link more noticeable and enticing, or you could improve the look of the page or the ease that your visitors can access the necessary information on that page.

If, on the other hand, you notice that visitors are spending a lot of time on pages that you think are less important, you might consider moving some of your sales copy and marketing focus to that particular page.

As you can see, these statistics will reveal vital information about the effectiveness of individual pages, and visitor habits and motivation. This is essential information to any successful Internet marketing campaign.

Your website undoubtedly has exit pages, such as a final order or contact form. This is a page you can expect your visitor to exit rapidly. However, not every visitor to your site is going to find exactly what he or she is looking for, so statistics may show you a number of different exit pages. This is normal unless you notice a exit trend on a particular page that is not intended as an exit page. In the case that a significant percentage of visitors are exiting your website on a page not designed for that purpose, you must closely examine that particular page to discern what the problem is. Once you pinpoint potential weaknesses on that page, minor modifications in content or graphic may have a significant impact on the keeping visitors moving through your site instead of exiting at the wrong page.

After you have analyzed your visitor statistics, it's time to turn to your keywords and phrases. Notice if particular keywords are directing a specific type of visitor to your site. The more targeted the visitor - meaning that they find what they are looking for on your site, and even better, fill out your contact form or make a purchase - the more valuable that keyword is.

However, if you find a large number of visitors are being directed - or should I say misdirected - to your site by a particular keyword or phrase, that keyword demands adjustment. Keywords are vital to bringing quality visitors to your site who are ready to do business with you. Close analysis of the keywords your visitors are using to find your site will give you a vital understanding of your visitor's needs and motivations.

Finally, if you notice that users are finding your website by typing in your company name, break open the champagne! It means you have achieved a significant level of brand recognition, and this is a sure sign of burgeoning success.

Evaluating Web Site Performance

Setting up a website is the very first step of an Internet marketing campaign, and the success or failure of your site depends greatly on how specifically you have defined your website goals. If you don't know what you want your site to accomplish, it will most likely fail to accomplish anything. Without goals to guide you in developing and monitoring your website, all your site will be is an online announcement that you are in business.

If you expect your site to stimulate some form of action, whether it is visitors filling out a form so a
representative can contact them, or purchasing a product, there are steps you can take to insure that your website is functioning at peak efficiency. One of the first indicators of how well your site is working for you is finding out the number of visitors in a given period of time. A good baseline measurement is a month in which you haven't been doing any unusual offline promotional activities.

However, just because hoards of people have passed through your gates does not mean your site is successful. Usually, you want those visitors to actually do something there. It is equally important to monitor the number of visitors to your site who made a purchase. This figure is called the site conversion rate, and it is an essential element of the efficacy of your website.

To find the site conversion rate, take the number of visitors per month and figure out the percentage of them that actually performed the action your site is set up for. For example, if you had 2,000 hits to your site, but only 25 of them purchased your product, your site conversion rate equals 1.25%. To get this figure, take your number of visitors and divide that figure by the number of visitors who made a purchase. Then divide that result by 100 (25 ?00 X 100).

If your website is set-up to get visitors to fill out a form, make sure to then figure out what the difference is between your site conversion rate and your sales conversion rate. This is because not everyone who fills out your form will actually become your customer. However, whether your site is set-up to sell a service or product, or to get the visitor to fill out a form, the site conversion rate will measure the success or failure of your website whenever you make changes to the site.

You may find that you need to implement some additional marketing strategies if you find that traffic to your site is extremely low. There are several effective methods to improve the flow of traffic to your website, particularly launching a search engine optimization campaign. This campaign is targeted at increasing your position in search engine results so that consumers can find your pages faster and easier. You can either research the steps you need to take to improve your search engine rankings, or employ a search engine optimization company to do the work for you. In either case, after your have improved your search engine positions, make sure you keep on top of them by regular monitoring and adjusting of your efforts to maintain high positions.

Another factor to examine is how easy it is for a visitor to your website to accomplish the action the site is set-up for. For example, if your goal is for the visitor to fill out a form, is this form easily accessible, or does the visitor have to go through four levels to get to it? If it's too difficult to get to, the customer may just throw in the towel and move on to another site. Make sure your buttons are highly visible, and the path to your form or ordering page quickly accessible.

Finally, have a professional evaluate the copy on your website. The goal is, of course, to get your visitor to make a purchase or fill out your form. Website copy must be specifically geared to your online campaign and not just a cut and paste job from your company brochure. The right copy can make the difference between profit and loss in your online campaign.

Increasing Your Search Engine Ranking

The methods employed to increase your search engine rankings may seem like rocket science to you, so you have probably avoided dealing with this issue. I am here to tell you - the time has come to face your website! A high search engine ranking for your website is so essential that if you have the slightest desire to actually succeed in your business, there is no way you can continue to avoid this issue.

At least 85% of people looking for goods and services on the Internet find websites through search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN. The idea of optimizing your pages for high search engine rankings is to attract targeted customers to your site who will be more than likely to make a purchase. The higher your page comes up in search engine results, the greater the traffic that is directed to your website. That's what search engine optimization is about.

You can immerse yourself in all the technical information available online to figure out how to optimize your web pages to achieve higher rankings. Or you can look at a few simple items on your pages, make some small adjustments, and most likely see improved rankings quite rapidly. The first item you should examine is the title bar on your homepage.

The title bar is the colored bar at the top of the page. Look at the words that appear there when you access your home page. To increase search engine rankings, the words on your homepage's title bar should include the most important keywords or phrases, one of which would include your company name.

Then click on all your links and examine the title bars on the pages you access. Each title bar on every single page of your site should contain the most important keywords and phrases taken from the page itself. However, avoid very long strings of keywords, keeping them to six words or less. Avoid repeating keywords more than once in the title bars, and make sure that identical words are not next to each other.

The next item to put under your microscope is your website content. Search engines generally list sites that contain quality content rather than scintillating graphics. The text on your site must contain the most important keywords - the words that potential customers will be typing into search engines to find your site.

Aim to have around 250 words on each page, but if this is not desirable due to your design, aim for at least 100 carefully chosen words. If you want to achieve a high ranking on search engines, this text is essential. However, the search engines must be able to read the text, meaning that the text must be in HTML and not graphic format.

To find out if your text is in HTML format, take your cursor and try to highlight a word or two. If you are able to do this, the text is HTML. If the text will not highlight, it is probably in graphic form. In this case, ask your webmaster to change the text into HTML format in order to increase your search engine rankings.

Next we come to what is called meta tags. I know this sounds like something out of science fiction, but it is really just simple code. Many people believe that meta tags are the key to high search engine rankings, but in reality, they only have a limited effect. Still, it's worth adding them in the event that a search engine will use meta tags in their ranking formula.

To find out if your page is set up with meta tags, you must access the code. To do this, click the "view" button on the browser menu bar, and select "source." This will pull up a window revealing the underlying code that created the page. If there are meta tags, they usually appear near the top of the window. For example, a meta tag would read: meta name="keywords" content=. If you do not find code that reads like this, ask your webmaster to put them in. This may not do much for your search engine rankings, but any little boost helps.

Lastly, we come to the issue of link popularity. This is a factor that is extremely important in terms of search engine rankings. Almost all search engines use link popularity to rank your website. Link popularity is based on the quality of the sites you have linked to from your links page.

If you type in "free link popularity check" in a popular search engine, the search engine will then show you what sites are linked to your site. In the case that there aren't many sites linked up to yours, or that the sites that are linked up have low search engine rankings, consider launching a link popularity campaign. Essentially, this entails contacting quality sites and requesting that they exchange links with your site. Of course, this requires checking out the rankings of the websites you want to link up with. Linking to popular, quality sites not only boosts your search engine ranking, but it also directs more quality traffic to your website.

Search engine rankings are extremely important for a successful Internet marketing campaign. Before you go out and hire a search engine optimization company, try taking some of the simple steps listed above, and see if you can't boost your rankings yourself. Don't ever ignore this all-important factor in Internet marketing. Remember, the higher your search engine ranking, the more quality customers will be directed your way.

Protecting Your Search Engine Rankings

Your website's ranking on search engines is a vital element of your overall marketing campaign, and there are ways to improve your link popularity through legitimate methods. Unfortunately, the Internet is populated by bands of dishonest webmasters seeking to improve their link popularity by faking out search engines.

The good news is that search engines have figured this out, and are now on guard for "spam" pages and sites that have increased their rankings by artificial methods. When a search engines tracks down such a site, that site is demoted in ranking or completely removed from the search
engine's index.

The bad news is that some high quality, completely above-board sites are being mistaken for these web page criminals. Your page may be in danger of being caught up in the "spam" net and tossed from a search engine's index, even though you have done nothing to deserve such harsh treatment. But there are things you can do - and things you should be sure NOT to do - which will prevent this kind of misperception.

Link popularity is mostly based on the quality of sites you are linked to. Google pioneered this criteria for assigning website ranking, and virtually all search engines on the Internet now use it. There are legitimate ways to go about increasing your link popularity, but at the same time, you must be scrupulously careful about which sites you choose to link to. Google frequently imposes penalties on sites that have linked to other sites solely for the purpose of artificially boosting their link popularity. They have actually labeled these links "bad neighborhoods."

You can raise a toast to the fact that you cannot be penalized when a bad neighborhood links to your site; penalty happens only when you are the one sending out the link to a bad neighborhood. But you must check, and double-check, all the links that are active on your links page to make sure you haven't linked to a bad neighborhood.

The first thing to check out is whether or not the pages you have linked to have been penalized. The most direct way to do this is to download the Google toolbar at http://toolbar.google.com. You will then see that most pages are given a "Pagerank" which is represented by a sliding green scale on the Google toolbar.

Do not link to any site that shows no green at all on the scale. This is especially important when the scale is completely gray. It is more than likely that these pages have been penalized. If you are linked to these pages, you may catch their penalty, and like the flu, it may be difficult to recover from the infection.

There is no need to be afraid of linking to sites whose scale shows only a tiny sliver of green on their scale. These sites have not been penalized, and their links may grow in value and popularity. However, do make sure that you closely monitor these kind of links to ascertain that at some point they do not sustain a penalty once you have linked up to them from your links page.

Another evil trick that illicit webmasters use to artificially boost their link popularity is the use of hidden text. Search engines usually use the words on web pages as a factor in forming their rankings, which means that if the text on your page contains your keywords, you have more of an opportunity to increase your search engine ranking than a page that does not contain text inclusive of keywords.

Some webmasters have gotten around this formula by hiding their keywords in such a way so that they are invisible to any visitors to their site. For example, they have used the keywords but made them the same color as the background color of the page, such as a plethora of white keywords on a white background. You cannot see these words with the human eye - but the eye of search engine spider can spot them easily! A spider is the program search engines use to index web pages, and when it sees these invisible words, it goes back and boosts that page's link ranking.

Webmasters may be brilliant and sometimes devious, but search engines have figured these tricks out. As soon as a search engine perceive the use of hidden text - splat! the page is penalized.

The downside of this is that sometimes the spider is a bit overzealous and will penalize a page by mistake. For example, if the background color of your page is gray, and you have placed gray text inside a black box, the spider will only take note of the gray text and assume you are employing hidden text. To avoid any risk of false penalty, simply direct your webmaster not to assign the same color to text as the background color of the page - ever!

Another potential problem that can result in a penalty is called "keyword stuffing." It is important to have your keywords appear in the text on your page, but sometimes you can go a little overboard in your enthusiasm to please those spiders. A search engine uses what is called "Keyphrase Density" to determine if a site is trying to artificially boost their ranking. This is the ratio of keywords to the rest of the words on the page. Search engines assign a limit to the number of times you can use a keyword before it decides you have overdone it and penalizes your site.

This ratio is quite high, so it is difficult to surpass without sounding as if you are stuttering - unless your keyword is part of your company name. If this is the case, it is easy for keyword density to soar. So, if your keyword is "renters insurance," be sure you don't use this phrase in every sentence. Carefully edit the text on your site so that the copy flows naturally and the keyword is not repeated incessantly. A good rule of thumb is your keyword should never appear in more than half the sentences on the page.

The final potential risk factor is known as "cloaking." To those of you who are diligent Trekkies, this concept should be easy to understand. For the rest of you?cloaking is when the server directs a visitor to one page and a search engine spider to a different page. The page the spider sees is "cloaked" because it is invisible to regular traffic, and deliberately set-up to raise the site's search engine ranking. A cloaked page tries to feed the spider everything it needs to rocket that page's ranking to the top of the list.

It is natural that search engines have responded to this act of deception with extreme enmity, imposing steep penalties on these sites. The problem on your end is that sometimes pages are cloaked for legitimate reasons, such as prevention against the theft of code, often referred to as "pagejacking." This kind of shielding is unnecessary these days due to the use of "off page" elements, such as link popularity, that cannot be stolen.

To be on the safe side, be sure that your webmaster is aware that absolutely no cloaking is acceptable. Make sure the webmaster understands that cloaking of any kind will put your website at great risk.

Just as you must be diligent in increasing your link popularity and your ranking, you must be equally diligent to avoid being unfairly penalized. So be sure to monitor your site closely and avoid any appearance of artificially boosting your rankings.

Search Engine Keywords Selection

Search engines are the vehicles that drive potential customers to your websites. But in order for visitors to reach their destination - your website - you need to provide them with specific and effective signs that will direct them right to your site. You do this by creating carefully chosen keywords.

Think of the right keywords as the Open Sesame! of the Internet. Find the exactly right words or phrases, and presto! hoards of traffic will be pulling up to your front door. But if your keywords are too general or too over-used, the possibility of visitors actually making it all the way to your site - or of seeing any real profits from the visitors that do arrive - decreases dramatically.

Your keywords serve as the foundation of your marketing strategy. If they are not chosen with great precision, no matter how aggressive your marketing campaign may be, the right people may never get the chance to find out about it. So your first step in plotting your strategy is to gather and evaluate keywords and phrases.

You probably think you already know EXACTLY the right words for your search phrases. Unfortunately, if you haven't followed certain specific steps, you are probably WRONG. It's hard to be objective when you are right in the center of your business network, which is the reason that you may not be able to choose the most efficient keywords from the inside. You need to be able to think like your customers. And since you are a business owner and not the consumer, your best bet is to go directly to the source.

Instead of plunging in and scribbling down a list of potential search words and phrases yourself, ask for words from as many potential customers as you can. You will most likely find out that your understanding of your business and your customers' understanding is significantly different.

The consumer is an invaluable resource. You will find the words you accumulate from them are words and phrases you probably never would have considered from deep inside the trenches of your business.

Only after you have gathered as many words and phrases from outside resources should you add your own keyword to the list. Once you have this list in hand, you are ready for the next step: evaluation.

The aim of evaluation is to narrow down your list to a small number of words and phrases that will direct the highest number of quality visitors to your website. By "quality visitors" I mean those consumers who are most likely to make a purchase rather than just cruise around your site and take off for greener pastures. In evaluating the effectiveness of keywords, bear in mind three elements: popularity, specificity, and motivation.

Popularity is the easiest to evaluate because it is an objective quality. The more popular your keyword is, the more likely the chances are that it will be typed into a search engine which will then bring up your URL.

You can now purchase software that will rate the popularity of keywords and phrases by giving words a number rating based on real search engine activity. Software such as WordTracker will even suggest variations of your words and phrases. The higher the number this software assigns to a given keyword, the more traffic you can logically expect to be directed to your site. The only fallacy with this concept is the more popular the keyword is, the greater the search engine position you will need to obtain. If you are down at the bottom of the search results, the consumer will probably never scroll down to find you.

Popularity isn't enough to declare a keyword a good choice. You must move on to the next criteria, which is specificity. The more specific your keyword is, the greater the likelihood that the consumer who is ready to purchase your goods or services will find you.

Let's look at a hypothetical example. Imagine that you have obtained popularity rankings for the keyword "automobile companies." However, you company specializes in bodywork only. The keyword "automobile body shops" would rank lower on the popularity scale than "automobile companies," but it would nevertheless serve you much better. Instead of getting a slew of people interested in everything from buying a car to changing their oil filters, you will get only those consumers with trashed front ends or crumpled fenders being directed to your site. In other words, consumers ready to buy your services are the ones who will
immediately find you. Not only that, but the greater the specificity of your keyword is, the less competition you will face.

The third factor is consumer motivation. Once again, this requires putting yourself inside the mind of the customer rather than the seller to figure out what motivation prompts a person looking for a service or product to type in a particular word or phrase. Let's look at another example, such as a consumer who is searching for a job as an IT manager in a new city. If you have to choose between "Seattle job listings" and "Seattle IT recruiters" which do you think will benefit the consumer more? If you were looking for this type of specific job, which keyword would you type in? The second one, of course! Using the second
keyword targets people who have decided on their career, have the necessary experience, and are ready to enlist you as their recruiter, rather than someone just out of school who is casually trying to figure out what to do with his or her life in between beer parties. You want to find people who are ready to act or make a purchase, and this requires subtle tinkering of your keywords until your find the most specific and directly targeted phrases to bring the most motivated traffic to you site.

Once you have chosen your keywords, your work is not done. You must continually evaluate performance across a variety of search engines, bearing in mind that times and trends change, as does popular lingo. You cannot rely on your log traffic analysis alone because it will not tell you how many of your visitors actually made a purchase.

Luckily, some new tools have been invented to help you judge the effectiveness of your keywords in individual search engines. There is now software available that analyzes consumer behavior in relation to consumer traffic. This allows you to discern which keywords are bringing you the most valuable customers.

This is an essential concept: numbers alone do not make a good keyword; profits per visitor do. You need to find keywords that direct consumers to your site who actually buy your product, fill out your forms, or download your product. This is the most important factor in evaluating the efficacy of a keyword or phrase, and should be the sword you wield when discarding and replacing ineffective or inefficient keywords with keywords that bring in better profits.

Ongoing analysis of tested keywords is the formula for search engine success. This may sound like a lot of work - and it is! But the amount of informed effort you put into your keyword campaign is what will ultimately generate your business' rewards.

Affiliate Program-Information For Those Interested In Learning More

What is the Affiliate Business Internet Marketing Online? And how can you profit from it? The idea of affiliate program or business is in fact a very simple marketing strategy. In part it is an outgrowth of the Internet and free email services. Imagine that you are standing in the middle of a crowd of hundreds of millions of people with money in their pockets, and a desire to spend it.

If you had a product to sell, it would seem that you are in Heaven, wouldn’t it? If you are planning to engage in Affiliate Business Internet Marketing Online in an active role, you either need to start getting people who visit your site to subscribe to your newsletter, or you need to by lists of addresses from people who gather lists of “double opt-in” subscribers.

A double opt-in has to not only agree to accept email from one site, but also has to agree to accept emails from unspecified “others” who may be affiliated with the site you subscribed to.
Now imagine that you have the ability to send each of them a piece of mail every day. No need to imagine; you can do it. What’s the catch? The catch is that you need their exact address, and their permission to send them the mail.

How do you get this permission? New laws in the U.S. governing Spam, require that you acquire this permission from the addressee, and that the addressee has the right to cancel that permission at any time.
Whether or not you are in an Affiliate Marketing Program, you are continually being offered the option to join some marketer’s “list.” Whatever you are interested in; whatever you read on the Internet, you surely have seen an invitation to receive a “newsletter” from that site. If you “subscribe” to the newsletter, you are a captured address with a “single opt-in.”

With you being a “single op-in” the owner of the newsletter has certain rights with regard to sending you emails. These rights include, but may not be limited to sending you “offers” directly from the owner of the newsletter. Before you subscribe to any newsletter, READ the “terms and conditions” and the “privacy policy” of that site, (you know, those two little boxes you check without reading just to get your newsletter).
The affiliate program or programs are challenging to figure out in the beginning, just stick to your guns and you will have it worked out quickly.

Remember, targeted marketing, research and websites that convert into sales are key to the affiliate program marketing business. Buy a book from an authority in the business, understand what it’s all about, and then jump in and start promoting! This is definitely a business anyone can enjoy and profit from! An affiliate program can definitely make your profits increase over only just a short period of time so there would not be any need in you worrying over if you have made the right decision.

PPC Advertising for Maximum Web Promotion

Engaging in pay-per-click (PPC) advertising has its own benefits and drawbacks. But what exactly is PPC advertising and what it can do to your business?

Business nowadays is doing different kinds of austerity measures when it comes to advertising their products and services. This is because of high rates of placing ads on print and on television. But there is a fast growing approach that businessmen can utilize to bring their services closer to the people and that is through Internet Marketing.

One tool that is causing internet marketing popularity is PPC advertising. This is a technique used in search engine marketing that requires one to pay a fee every time someone clicks an ad on your website. Usually this placement is done through a bidding process. If you are a top bidder for your keywords/phrases, you are sure to be on the number one spot on all search engines. Just be sure of the effectiveness of your ad copy to get the most number of clicks you need for your business.

Here are the benefits of PPC advertising are:

1.    You need not be a genius in computer and technology to be able to run this ad campaign.
2.    Immediate results are seen after a few days.
3.    No need to make a website conform to the SEO rules.
4.    Nothing to lose even if you do not top the pages of different search engines. You can still always choose PPC advertising.
5.    You can make use any search engine available.
6.    You can type in any keyword you like.

Cons of PPC advertising includes:

1.    Fixed payments every month to the search engine you choose.
2.    Pay for each click received by your website. At times, visitors are just competitors or people playing pranks on search engines. This hassle wastes money you put in to this advertising.
3.    Inability to pay for the fees next month would mean removal of your website on the paid listings.
4.    This advertising can only be used temporarily because it is difficult to handle in the long run.
5.    Pay-per-click pricing can be costly for long periods of time, therefore, this should be stopped after an ad campaign.

But how exactly PPC advertising can increase traffic, leads and sales?

PRE-QUALIFIED TRAFFIC. All visitors of your website are already considered as a qualified consumer or buyer of your product. PPC advertising leads your customers to you for a lesser cost.

INSTANT EXPOSURE, IMMEDIATE PROFITS. PPC search engines enable you to get your desired results fast. They will have your website live within just a few hours which means immediate increase in sale.

CONSISTENT TOP LISTINGS. This is to get your website on top of the sponsored search results for free. You just have to choose the keywords related to your site and business and place them within your web pages. After this, you are done.

PPC advertising enables advertisers to control their advertising campaigns. Advertisers have effectively targeted their audience and set their own price per click. PPC advertising networks provide the platform to identify the desired audience by geographic setting, topic and industry.  These networks have a list of websites of the publishers where the ads will be placed.

Tools are provided by the networks to check how the pay per click limit is working for a certain advertiser. If its still competitive, would it be even listed among the paid search lists or does it generate sales? Of course, if the advertiser made the highest bid, the better chances the ad will be seen in the search engine. These networks too provide protection for the advertisers against click fraud. This advertising set-up allows advertisers to set a daily budget for his ads, thus, less spending for unnecessary clicks. Advertiser will never go over his budget.

In PPC advertising, what are important are the keywords and phrases. You have to select at least ten "very specific" keywords that would give you the best traffic in the search. Then, write the ad creatively but straightforward. Tell the truth about your product or service and do not lie. Good thing if your product or service will not disappoint those that are relying on your ad's promise - but what if it did otherwise? Important too is the clarity of the ad. Do not use very vague languages. Include important details like the price.

You should also remember to budget your bids. Do not go overbidding because you will only lose your money and do not go so low that your ads will never get the chance to show up. Check your profit against your spending. If you see no progress then most likely you have to drop your ad campaign.

More and more advertisers have been using PPC advertising and it will continue to grow faster than any online advertising techniques. From revenues of $2.6 billion in 2004 to $5.5 billion in 2009, cost per click will dramatically go up as well from $0.29 to $0.36.

PPC advertising is new in online marketing and it is going to continue in the years to come. For advertisers, this means increase revenues with fewer advertising expenses, savings, more sales, good return of investment (ROI) and effective ad campaigns in the days to come.

Cash and Pay-per-click Affiliate Programs

Millions are paying to get a ride on the Information Super Highway everyday. Now, it is widely known that the Internet is an accessible resource of many income-generating activities. Whether you belong to a private sales company or you are just interested in internet marketing, PPC affiliate programs can be a powerful venue to make money from the Internet. A partnership with an affiliate merchant is a win-win situation for the merchant and the affiliate: sales are soaring because of exposure and traffic while the affiliate is earning good cash.

To make things much simpler: the affiliate merchant provides a strip of advertisement and pays you when someone clicks on the ad’s link. You can get a commission of $0.10 to $0.30 for every click, but it sometimes it can go higher depending on your merchant affiliate. Sometimes, merchants require a quota ($1.4 for every 1000 clicks). Plus, you can get discounts from your merchant affiliates if you happen to like their products too. You can just kick back and relax while your website is generating cash. Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

What is PCC Affiliate Program?

PPC means pay-per-click, wherein you get in partnership with an affiliate company that literally pays you for every click. There are actually two types of PCC affiliate programs – those who pay a commission based on the number of clicks and the other based on the sales. The pay-per-click scheme is much more popular than pay-per-lead because the affiliate gets paid by just clicking the ad, regardless of whether the visitor buys from the affiliate merchant or not. Plus the chances of a visitor purchasing something from the affiliate merchant are not really that high.

In choosing an affiliate program, read the fine print carefully – some pay-per-click programs get the ratio of the number of people who went to your site and the actual people who clicked on the ad. If you have a heavily targeted website, this can hurt your earnings.

How do I start?

Of course, you need to have a website. Depending on your target audience, choose the best affiliate merchant that is most related to your topic. For example, your website is about Carpentry then you can search for affiliate programs that sell tools used in carpentry.

However, if you don’t have a website, that’s not a problem. You can put up a content site about absolutely anything under the sun like ‘Taking Care of Dogs’ or ‘Decorating your own Home.’ But wait, its not over yet. We are faced by a dilemma – on how to increase traffic! You first need to get internet surfers to see your website, then the ad.

How do I increase my traffic?

First, design your website in such a way that it will attract internet users. A user-friendly site is always recommended so that the customers will know which one to click. Take into consideration the look and feel of the advertisement. If it doesn’t look professional, most likely, users will just ignore it. Place the ad on a strategic location – one where users can see it clearly. Visibility of the ad is always important.

Another way is to post a link to your website in forums, web communities, ezine articles or bulletin boards. However, this method requires a lot of effort – that defeats your purpose of getting easy money in the first place! The key is to do something once and forget about it. It’s like putting your business on autopilot. To maintain you pay-per-click business, be sure to track down site activity, so you are updated on how much money you are making.

Can I make more money?

If you think you can go to the next level, you can try a two-tier affiliate program. This gives you the power to recruit affiliates. Other than the money you get from your website’s clicks, you will also get a percentage of what your affiliate generates. Some companies give 30% to a soaring 50% commission on all referral sales.

Remember, you should be able to manage and monitor your affiliate program. If you can recruit more affiliates, then you can get paid more without even moving a finger! Choose affiliates that can most likely attract more internet users and bring more traffic. You just have to know the right people.

Increasing Sales Through Strategic Internet Marketing

The Internet has now become an important medium for product and service advertisements.  Almost every company that can afford print, radio and TV advertisements have also ventured into placing ads on the Internet.

But with millions of websites out there being visited by millions of computer users, how can you make sure that your ad can be seen by your target customers and that your leads will be followed by these users?  Here are a few tips.

1.  Place an ad on the websites frequented by your target customers.  Before doing this, you need to define who will be your target customers.  Placing an ad on sites that they usually visit will increase the possibility that your ad will gain the attention and will be followed your target customers.

Also, consider the website's search engine placement, traffic, external linking and the other ads placed on it.  External linking will determine if there are other sites that link to this site.  This will mean that people can get to the site where your ad is placed, even if they are browsing a different site.  Check if many of your competitors have ads on this site.

2.  Placing ads on some sites cost some money.  However, there are also sites that can place a link to your site, product or service in exchange of having their link being displayed on your site.  This is also true about the newsletters sent by site owners to its mailing list members regularly.

Also, having helpful links placed on your site and having sites link to your pages help in boosting search engine ranking.  This is similar to making a statement that your site's content is important that other sites have links to your web pages.

3.  Pay-per-click (PPC) is also a good method in Internet marketing.  You will only need to pay for the ad if the link is clicked.  If you prefer this method of advertisement, make sure that you are using services that set limits on daily expenses.  There are also services that help you determine effective keywords and monitor the PPC results.

4.  Choose your domain name wisely.  It is still being debated if domain names matter when it comes to search engine placement.  Whether it does or not, having product related domain names help consumers remember your domain, that they can go back to your site even without the links.

5.  Make sure you have useful content on your sites.  While keyword density is important in search engine placement, having useless information or annoying repetition of keywords will not increase your customer's confidence in your site.  It may even affect your sites traffic and can get your site removed from search engines.  So make sure that keywords are used strategically.

6.  When thinking of keywords, think like your target customers.  What do you think are they going to search so they can get to your site?  Also, use specific keywords or key phrases.  Submitting a single word or a very general phrase to a search engine will not get you to the top of the search results compared to submitting specific keywords that describe your product and services perfectly.

7.  Track your ads.  Always check how much you have spent on placing links on frequently visited sites and on PPC.  There are services that allow you to monitor PPC transactions and how many of these end in sales.  You always need to consider if the ads that you have placed on these websites are getting you to your target consumers and if these ads can lead to revenue.

One final tip on marketing products and services, sell the benefits.  It will help your marketing strategies a lot if you highlight the benefits of choosing your products and services instead of merely discussing the product specifications.  Product specifications may not mean much to customers, unless they know what these stand for (how these specifications affect the quality of the product or service).

Many people say getting to the top of search engine results is difficult since millions of websites exist, which can be using the same keywords.  While this is true, this doesn't mean that your website has to stacked under your competitors' websites when presenting search engine results.  Strategic advertising and linking, together with useful content, can also get you to the top of the search results.

To SEO or To PPC?

The online community is definitely a large market place that you cannot ignore, especially if you have an internet business. There are thousands if not millions of consumers that you can tap in the internet.

At the same time, the internet also poses a quite different challenge. The easy access that internet provides also gives you as much competition as you can imagine. It is too crowded and congested.

Having a website is not enough to make your business running and able to compete. You must take other alternatives to give way for the online community to access your website at any rate or chance possible.

You have to expose your website. Make it known. It has to be visible. It has to be frequently targeted by consumers and surfers.

Invest in marketing your internet site.  There are basically two options available to you, the SEO and PPC. These two are probably the most desirable alternatives you can get for your internet business as strategy for search engine marketing.

1. SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Some researches indicate that 60% - 70% of internet surfers and users actually resort to using the Google search engine to find and locate web sites and pages, for any topic they desire. SEO is the process taken to make sure that the internet uses will find your website when ranked among the top results of a search. This way you can make sure that you will be visible and can clearly stand out from the rest.

To get a search engine optimization, you will have to build on your own internet site frequently hit internet links to web site pages. The process will involve IBLN or Independent Back-Linking Network, wherein hundreds or even thousands of pages will be utilized to promote a particular website of a client.

In SEO, there is no need for you to pay for the clicks although it will require you to spend time doing research to get a favorable combination of ads and target audience. The SEO process is a long term one. It requires months, 6 months at the least, before the proper outcome is fully achieved, but once the goal is accomplished, you will definitely get a steady source of profit.

2. PPC

PPC means Pay Per Click. It gives way advertising on a search engine. These are sponsored listings that you see whenever you make a search. There will be a charge whenever a visitor or web surfer clicks on any of your ads. There will first be a bidding process. The highest bidder for the price per click will definitely get the chance to be first listed in the search engine.

With this kind of advertising, you can still basically control your campaign as you get to create your own ad. You will also manage the target audience and still stay within the bounds of your budget. Most of the providers of PPC advertising will allow you to specify the target market, either by topic, industry or geographical location. You can also very well check if your ad gets to be shown at all and if it is competitive with the rest.

There are some guaranteed benefits when you get to maximize the PPC strategy.

- PPC lets you advertise to the whole of the online community. It is also relatively easy to set up.

- At first glance, PPC advertising may seem very expensive. Could it possibly happen that someone out there will go on clicking on your ad? This will definitely give you a large bill without the expected profit on your part. If this provides a lot of worries, be rest assured that there is a protection for you. Networks are able to recognize fraudulent clicks.

- You can also set a budget for a certain period. The moment your budget has been used up by the target number of clicks, your ads will no longer be displayed until the next period you want it again displayed.

- You will also be able to adjust well to changes in market demands and trends.

In deciding which of the two strategies will work right for you, think of your goals and of your resources. They definitely offer benefits and advantages that will work for your good. The better way to approach this two is to evaluate according to your short term and long term plans. Take the PPC course for your short term goals and choose SEO if you have long term ones.

There world is out there for you now. Just make sure you do what will work best for your entrepreneurial endeavors and visions. The secret to success lies in your hands. Just study your options well and you’ll get exactly what you want.

PPC Appraisal Program: Leave Your Computer On And Earn Money

This program is very simple to download, entirely free and really works!

Requiring no sponsoring, no costs at all to join, once it has been set up, the only thing you do is leave your computer on and the system will just automatically run and you can trace your income by the second.

This program operates comparable to “click on a search engine and get paid” programs, with the exception of the following:

1. It is run automatically similar to auto surf, so there is no need for you to click on any link.

2. It does not provide you with only one search engine, but there are at least twenty one now running.

If you continually run your computer for twenty four hours a day, you may earn up to fifteen dollars a day.  At the end of the month, when they will be adding up to two hundred more search engines, you may earn up to sixty dollars a day, not doing anything, just be online.

In addition, you get another five percent of your referrals running time; these referrals could go as far as four levels.

Every search engine builds up an independent total of your time surfing.  You must reach sixty dollars before payment be done by each of the search engine.

Normally, when you are running your computer online for twenty four hours each day, without any referral, for you to reach sixty dollars, it would more or less take you up to two months, with the now running twenty four search engines.  Now consider this, sixty multiplied by twenty four will equal to one thousand four hundred forty.  This is how much you will make in two months, of doing nothing.

Maximum Website Promotion through PPC Bid Management

Tools for Internet Marketing have been rising to popularity these days because of cost-effectiveness and the possibility of measuring increase in profits and sales.

Pay per click (PPC) is a means to advertise business through the use of keywords/phrases in the search engines. The advertiser is required to only pay for each click that sends a visitor to his website. Search engines such as Overture, Google Adwords, Search Yahoo and Miva are just some examples of search engines. They offer top positions among the sponsored listings for particular keywords/phrases you choose. The idea for bidding is you have to buy/bid on keywords/phrases relevant to your business. The highest bidder gets to be on the top of the search result listing and the second highest bidder, of course, gets the next top listing and so on. Every time a visitor clicks on your website, you will have to pay the same amount that you bid on that particular keyword.

PPC can be very costly, time consuming and sometimes not worthy. But if you know how to go about the step by step procedures, PPC is a welcome change to traditional advertising.

If you do your searches for products, articles and auctions in the net, you usually type in a keyword or a set of phrase to guide you in your search. Either you use Google or Yahoo Search depending on where you are most comfortable at and where you usually get the best results. As soon as you key in the search button, immediately a long list of keywords or phrase will be displayed containing the keywords you key in. The first or the top link that you saw is most likely the one who bids the highest for that keyword you type. In this way, businessmen will produce the desired results; they get to be advertised, at the same time, saving and spending only for the clicks they need that might translate to potential sales.

The way to start PPC bid management is to identify first the maximum cost per click (CPC) you are willing to pay for a given keyword or phrase. CPC varies from time and even search engine to search engine too. Maximum CPC can be measured by averaging the current costs of bids (bids range from $0.25 to $5). Average of these bids is to be used as the maximum CPC to begin with. As your ad campaign progresses, the actual conversion rate (visitors turning to potential buyers/sales) will be determined and you may have to adjust your CPC (bidding rate) accordingly.

When you start to bid, see to it that you adopt different bidding strategies for various search engines. Search engines have their own PPC systems that require different approaches. It is also worthy to identify different bids for the same keyword phrases in various search engines.

Another thing, it is wiser not to bid for the top spot for two reasons: 1) It is very expensive and impractical, and 2) Surfers usually try different search queries in various search engines before they settle on the right one that fits to what they are looking for. This hardly results to conversion. Try to bid for the fifth spot instead and work your way up.

If you are now going steady on your PPC biddings, it is time for you to develop your own bidding strategy accordingly. It is important for you to track down which sites bring the bulk of your traffic and identify the ranking of your paid ads. This will help your bidding strategy to be effective and you should also decide where you want your ad to be positioned. Usually your maximum CPC will limit your choices.

Bid gaps (e.g. $ 0.40, 0.39, bid gap, 0.20, 0.19, 0.18) occur when there is a significant price increase to move up one spot in the PPC rankings. It is best if you take advantage of the bid gaps by filling them in so you can save up your cents to other bidding opportunities. Often there are keywords worthy of lesser bids to get the appropriate ranking on the list and produce a good number of clicks and higher conversion rate rather than bidding higher but having a poor conversion rate. You have to put in mind that overbidding too is not good but rather the best position for the most effective bid.

Using pay-per-click bid management in promoting your website will only be successful if you take time building many lists across many engines and studying the performance of every listing. In this way, you can make the most value from what you spend in the bidding process.  The key is to use the necessary precautions to stay ahead of the competition.

Bid Management Tools

In ensuring best results, you may use bid management tools. There are accepted and approved management tools that will help you in your bidding. They are categorized in two different types:

•    Web based (services by monthly subscription) or,
•    PC based (a purchased software)

Monitoring tools too may help in the tracking down of your keywords/phrases and search engines as to which among them often generate sales, overall and in relation to your cost per click. This is what you call return of investment (ROI) monitoring.

These bid management tools may include additional functions that may not get from online marketing tools that are readily available. Other tools can monitor competitor’s bids, produce reports for different parties and offer the ability to interface with multiple PPC engines. This is particularly helpful to those who manage more than a hundred keywords across several PPC engines to boost productivity and save time.

Pay-per-click bid management is ideal for the effective promotion of your business online without the hassles of draining your financial keeping too much. It is now fast catching up as a means used in marketing your goods and services to reach to as many consumers as possible.

PPC marketing - Popular method of advertisement on the Web

PPC marketing or pay per click marketing is the most popular method of advertisement employed by various websites on the Internet. PPC marketing may often be referred to as pay for position, cost per click or pay for performance. But regardless of the term used, PPC marketing is the online advertiser's medium of choice for promoting products and services to online consumers.

PPC marketing is beneficial to both the advertiser and the consumer. Advertisers using PPC marketing only need to pay for the actual click throughs linked to their sites from search engines. At the same time as consumers are relieved of having to get annoying emails or pop-up ads for products and services.

When an online consumer searches for a specific product or service on the Internet, corresponding PPC marketing ads are also displayed alongside the results generated by the search engine. This forms a highly targeted consumer group that is more likely to purchase a specific product or service. In addition, websites get to limit their advertisement costs with the use of PPC marketing. PPC marketing is truly a winning solution for both parties.

Possible drawbacks of PPC marketing

Despite the obvious advantages of PPC marketing, there are possible drawbacks that can cancel out its benefits. One of the most common problems associated with PPC marketing is the inexperience of many people attempting to use this profitable advertisement method. Simply submitting PPC marketing ads to a search engine such as google, does not make up the entire campaign.

PPC marketing requires a calculated and systematic approach to setting up ads. PPC marketing involves the use of keywords and biddings in order to get top placement on a search engine. Getting top search engine placement helps boost traffic to a website that can easily translate into profit.

Without the necessary experience and knowledge to carry out a typical PPC marketing ad, may turn into an expensive campaign that does not convert into profit. PPC marketing ads also require continuous funding, as discontinued payments will also result in discontinued ads. This can be unfavorable for a website that has already built high rankings with their PPC marketing ads.

Bidding on keywords can also be quite costly, as the growing number of websites on the web struggle against each other to bid on the most popular keyword for their PPC marketing ad. Obviously small business websites are at a disadvantage here since big business websites are able to pay more for popular keywords related to their site. This is because most small businesses only set aside a small portion of their capital for advertisement, putting them at a disadvantage.

Running an effective PPC marketing campaign

There are a number of things that a website should consider when running an effective PPC marketing campaign. It is important to develop a marketing plan in order to get the most return on investment from PPC marketing. Selecting the most appropriate keywords that relate to the site's business is essential in PPC marketing.

However, simply choosing the most popular keywords does not necessarily translate into profit. Selecting more specific keywords that will put a site within the first ten results of a search also gets greater awareness from online consumers. In addition, it doesn't cost as much as getting the top spot for PPC marketing.

It is also important that a website constantly monitors the performance of their PPC marketing campaign. This will help the site modify any existing PPC marketing ad to make it more productive. At the same time any PPC marketing ad that has not proven effective can be immediately discontinued. Altering PPC marketing ads is a continuous process that many websites do in order to increase their return on investment.

Getting professional help with PPC marketing

The popularity of PPC marketing has given rise to professionals offering PPC marketing services for small and big businesses. Hiring a professional PPC marketing company is advisable for a small business without experience in PPC marketing. Most PPC marketing companies offer reasonable rates for their services and at the same time produce acceptable results.

A PPC marketing professional can attend to all the details commonly involved in a PPC marketing campaign. Handling a PPC marketing campaign is a time consuming process that can be overwhelming for a small business. A PPC marketing professional can help set up a PPC marketing campaign and later on train someone from within the business to handle it to ensure its continued success.

Affordable PPC search engine advertising

PPC search engine advertising is by far the most affordable form of advertising available. PPC search engine advertising is a flourishing business that by 2008 is expected to reach $ 8 billion. PPC search engine advertising is about producing leads. Creating leads will help potential buyers find the specific website that will provide them with the product or service they need.

However, PPC search engine advertising does not end there. It is important to understand that although PPC search engine advertising generates leads, it is also important for users to find relevant information at the website they are directed to. Information is a valuable asset in PPC search engine advertising that is often left unchecked by many websites. Keep in mind that users are more likely to purchase products or services from a company that provided them with the necessary information they needed in the first place.

Qualified traffic with PPC search engine advertising

One of the benefits of PPC search engine advertising is that it provides qualified traffic to a specific website. Users that click on a PPC ad are those in search of a particular product or service. This helps eliminate unnecessary clicks from non-prospective buyers that only produce expenditures not profits. PPC search engine advertising is also the fastest way to get a reasonable return on investment.

A bidding process is used to establish the price of a specific keyword. In general, the budget for PPC search engine advertising may be a $100 to $100,000 depending on the number of keywords used. These prices can skyrocket in just minutes as more and more sites bid for the same keyword thus causing the prices to jack up.

PPC ads are placed alongside search engine results to which they are relevant. The highest bids for a specific keyword or phrase gets top billing on the search engine results page. Getting top placement provides greater odds for a PPC ad to get clicked by a qualified searcher.

Elements of PPC search engine advertising

PPC search engine advertising involves three basic elements; constant monitoring, response analysis and refinement as the essential factors involved in PPC search engine advertising. Proper management of PPC search engine advertising can result in big profits for a website.

PPC search engine advertising makes it possible for sites to monitor the productivity of each PPC ad they place. This gives a site the opportunity to turn off any PPC ad that is not performing at its best. PPC search engine advertising provides the most economical way for a site to advertise on the World Wide Web.

The cost entailed in PPC search engine advertising is dictated by the clicks made on a particular PPC ad. The number of clicks made on a PPC ad is subtracted from the initial amount paid by the business to a search engine company. To minimize cost and maximize return on investment, a business will have to regularly monitor its PPC search engine advertising campaign.

How to use PPC search engine advertising

Many businesses are unable to get the most out of their PPC search engine advertising campaign. PPC search engine advertising involves a lot more than just bidding on the highest keywords. Information is a main concern of many online users.

Providing online users with relevant information they need will help bring about a more long-term relationship with an online user that will more likely result in a sale.
Information provided to online users may be in the form of a newsletter or e-zine that online users would likely sign up for. Sign-ups may be enough to cover the expenses of a PPC search engine advertising campaign.

Sign-ups also help generate leads for websites as they build opt in list from qualified online searchers who clicked their PPC ad. Getting personal information from qualified online searchers can be done in a variety of ways such as offering freebies for surveys or signing up for newsletters.

PPC search engine advertising is a continuous process that requires hands on supervision and a thorough understanding of PPC search engines. Businesses may opt to hire the services of a professional or do PPC search engine advertising with in-house experts. Whatever course of action is selected, a business is sure to get a huge return on investment with PPC search engine advertising.

From a directory, it would feed the headlines into website that has an RSS reader. Creating an RSS feed would definitely boost up your sales. How can you make an RSS feed? Just follow these simple steps:

Create a file for your feed.
Using a certain format, you’d have to create the XML version of your feed. It should include the title or the headline, the body’s short description, and the link where it can be read. There are a lot of different RSS web channel editor you can use for this. Some programs just require you to write news and articles down on a notepad and when placed on the editor, it will show up with the necessary formatting ready for upload. It would be advisable to make at least ten articles for your feed.

Save and Upload the file.
After creating your file, save your work as an XML, RSS, or an RDF file. Then you are now ready to upload it. Upload the file using your FTP program and place it on your web server. This process now makes the file readable by RSS news aggregators.

Validate the file.
Make your RSS program error-free. RSS is programming, so errors could lie unseen. Again, there are different programs that can assist you for this process. You would just need to place the saved and uploaded RSS file for the program to test it against wrong and missed code and tags. It is essential for you to check your work of course. This way, you’re sure that what you have is readable and usable.

Create a directory.
Now that you have created the file, saved it, and made sure it works, you are ready to let other see it. The main purpose of an RSS feed is to broadcast it to all RSS enabled sites. So go ahead and look for a directory where you can place your feed. Some may require fees for uploading a directory. Some offer it for free. Scout around and round up all the free sites you can have and place it there. If you have some marketing budget, you might want to subscribe to sites that charge a minimal amount. Don’t forget to place an icon of your RSS feed on your website, too for those people who visits you directly.

Update regularly.
With RSS, you know that the feed changes automatically every time you change the main file. Don’t let your RSS feed sit there for a month without modifying it. Maintain it. Add new articles. The more exciting your topic is, the more people will check your feeds and visit your website.

Creating an RSS feed for Internet marketing is made very simple now a days. Even people who are not computer savvy can create RSS feeds, based on the steps provided above. The applications that were created for RSS creation are the ones that make it easy for everyday computer users to make an RSS feed. All you need is familiarization with the process.

Start now creating RSS feeds. Give your competitor something fierce to duel with. Needless to say, RSS feeds give your website more traffic than usual web hosting. And web traffic means more people seeing your products that could be interested in buying them. Add strength to your marketing strategy. Make RSS feeds and be ready to sell.

Reading RSS Feeds with an RSS Aggregator

RSS or Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary is the latest information management tool that is gradually earning popularity among web users and website owners. With RSS technology, it is possible to get the latest postings from your favorite websites. But clicking on the RSS or XML button in a homepage is not enough to give you the service you need. An RSS feed or code displayed in the pop-up screen if not on the main page is composed of symbols and words that would only make sense to advanced RSS users and computer programmers and software enthusiasts. Another software tool called an RSS aggregator or reader is needed.

An aggregator works by scanning the worldwide web with latest postings based on the RSS code (containing the website’s URL) provided or added by the user. When it finds a new posting, news, or update, it will publish the RSS feed on your home page containing the title of the posting, which also serves as a clickable link to the website source. This RSS feed may or may not contain the whole article, a summary, and photos, depending on what RSS aggregator you are using.

Aggregators come in two types: the downloadable program or desktop-type and the online or web-based type. The desktop aggregator usually charges a certain amount for its services; this would include regular updating in the form of upgrades or patches to the original version. This type of RSS reader allows more customization of RSS feeds as well as page format or design over its on-line counterparts. But of course, price can be a drawback.

On-line or web-based aggregators are free of charge. All you need to do is register an account with them then you can start enjoying their services. Depending on the “brand” of the aggregator, customization is more limited. Some even do not allow you to customize at all.

Product and service advertisers are realizing the potential of RSS aggregators in internet marketing. In fact, several submit RSS codes to several popular web-based aggregators to reach the growing technophile and internet-based market. My Yahoo has been instrumental in popularizing RSS technology to both users and website owners and advertisers.

THE ADVANTAGES OF "RSS WEBSITES"

RSS - or what is now known as "Really Simple Syndication" - is a file format that is incorporated by Internet users in their websites to allow for 'web syndication', making their web content available in a format that can be universally understood by other people.

In essence, RSS is a 'mini database' that contains headlines and descriptions (a summary or a line or two of the full article) of your web content, including hyperlinks that enable users to link back to the full article of their choice.

RSS websites - that is, websites that contain RSS 'feeds' (articles or postings) - typically have colorful graphics to indicate to users that the specific web content is available through RSS feeds. These graphics are usually depicted by orange rectangles that are usually marked with 'RSS' or 'XML'.

With its increased popularity, RSS is now being adopted and used by more website owners or publishers. Today, numerous resources are now available that aid Internet surfers (and even beginners as well) on how to set up and use RSS.

Setting up RSS feeds and adding them to your website can be a simple process that does not involve a lot of time or any money. Listed below are some simple and basic steps that you might want to follow:

1. Have your web content and/or news in an RSS feed format, such as XML (appropriate and 'ready-made' feeds are also available from other sources).

2. Click the orange graphic - this is the RSS feed icon. Take note of the URL of the RSS feed; this will be displayed in the address bar (for Internet Explorer).

3. Input the feed URL on your RSS feed creation program.

4. Click on the "Generate Feed" button. This will generate the RSS code for your web content.

5. Enter the RSS code in the appropriate place on your own website.

Having created an RSS feed for your website, next comes the task of publishing your web content and news and having them displayed on other sites and headline viewers. This is made possible with the use of RSS readers or aggregators.

RSS readers or news aggregators are used to view particular web contents. RSS readers contain the collection of 'feeds' or RSS files from content providers, and they are generally classified into 3 types:

- Desktop RSS readers - also known as standalone desktop application, they generally 'run' in the background and are similar to an e-mail client, collecting the feeds and refreshing items automatically as they are updated.

- Web-based aggregators - these are online services that enable users to personalize web pages, refreshing them each time the page is accessed or each time a person logs in to the service.

- Plug-in aggregators/readers - these make use of either web browsers or e-mail clients, which allow users to view RSS feeds while inside an existing program.

Having an RSS-enabled website provides Internet users (especially those who are website owners) with the following benefits:

- Allows users to generate up-to-date news and postings, as information and content in the RSS readers or aggregators are automatically updated each time the RSS feed is 'refreshed'.

- Allows users to have control over the information that they wish to view or receive, as they can remove a feed of their choosing any time they want to.

Aside from these benefits, RSS websites are also useful for people who conduct their business in the Internet, particularly in Internet or Online Marketing. RSS can be an effective marketing tool for your website, especially in the following fields:

·    E-mail marketing and publishing
·    Search engine marketing and optimization
·    Business blogging
·    Internet advertising
·    Digital public relations
·    Branding and e-commerce

In addition, RSS can 'power' your website, providing you with the following:

- Valuable, updated, and relevant resources for site visitors and potential clients - RSS is ideal for websites that contain (and syndicate) a lot of information that has to be changed or updated regularly.

- Search engine optimization for the website.

- Increased traffic for the website - your website can 'harvest' and display information from other sites, driving more traffic to your own website.

- A wide selection of 'channels' for content distribution, such as PDA's, cellular phones, voice mails, and email ticklers.

- A reliable way to have your web content delivered to Internet users and potential clients - RSS ensures that your site is viewed by the people who are interested in them, without having them blocked and 'cleaned' by ISPs or Spam filters.

These are just some of the advantages that RSS can give your website (and your business). The possibilities are endless, as more and more comes up almost everyday. Do not be left behind - take the advantage of the marketing and publishing power of RSS.

Google Rank Check How to See the Value Google Places on Your Page

Do you want to do a Google rank check?  Google’s page rank is a patented algorithm.  Google considers more than half a billion variables when determining your rank on the search results.

No one person knows what all of these variables are – not even the person who oversees the code.  So, anyone claiming to be a Google rank check authority should be viewed with caution.

Still, there are some things we do know about how page rank works.

Google flat out says that pages they believe are important get a higher page rank than others.  Pages with higher rank tend to appear higher in the search results, though you will see page rank 5 pages occasionally ranking higher than page rank 7 pages for a specific search.

Google also sees the links on a page acting as a “vote” for other pages.  So, if a highly ranked page links to your site, you get more “juice” out of it than when a friend with no page rank links to your site.

Most experts agree that backlinks from .gov and .edu sites to have higher link juice than other top level domains because they are restricted to not for profit sites.

One way to get .edu links is to take out online ads on college newspaper sites.

But, any links from PR 2 or higher sites can help your page rank.  One way to get links is to post comments on with decent page rank.  But make sure that Google “follows” the links on the page first.  Some webmasters set their sites up so that you don’t get any link juice from your posts.  You can do this by downloading free software on the internet.

Other ideas for increasing page rank include:

- Join forums and post a link back to your website in your signature.  Every time you make a post, you’ll get link juice.

- Submit your site to directories.  Each directory which lists you will give you more of a chance of being listed higher in Google’s search results.

- Add an ezine to your site.  Not only will this allow you to keep up with the people who visit your site, but you can also post information about your ezine to ezine directories.

- Publish articles on the article sites.  You can drive traffic to your sites this way.  But, high PR article sites also give you link juice.

- Create a sitemap on your website.  This lets Google know how to index your page.

- Link to other pages within your web site.  Putting links to the internal pages within the web site allows you to increase your link juice.

- Continue building pages within your site.  Every page you create and link back to your home page increases the strength of your home page’s PR.

To do a Google rank check, you can install the Google toolbar to your Firefox browser.  The tool is at http://www.google.com/tools/firefox/toolbar/FT3/intl/en/index.html -This will give you the page rank of every page you visit.

A Google rank check will allow you to know how your site is faring compared to similar sites.

How to Choose a Word Press Theme that Makes You Money Quickly

There are many a Wordpress theme.  How to choose one that will enhance the quality of your links and the propensity of people to buy is a task you need to undertake if you want to make money online.

Wordpress themes are available free online if you do a search.  The trick is that you have to leave the link to the developer intact.  If you don’t want to lose any link juice, you can have a wordpress theme developed just for you.

Here are some things to look for in a Wordpress theme – how to choose the best one, in other words.

- Probably the most important thing is that the browser is compatible across browsers.  When you build a site, look at it in Internet Explorer as well as Firefox.  Check it out on PCs and Macs if you can.  You don’t want anyone’s experience on your website to be diminished because the theme is not compatible with their browser.

- The next feature you want to look for is the ability to add widgets to your word press theme.  One of the great features of the word press software is the availability of add on scripts called widgets.  These are extremely easy to upload.  But, if your theme can’t handle widgets easily, it’s not worth it, even if it has a nice look.

- You want your word press theme to load quickly.  If people have to wait seconds to see your site, they will click the back button before you have the chance to make your case.  If you are using a free theme, try loading someone else’s site that uses the theme before you take the trouble to put it on your own site.  If the CSS is compressed, this can speed page load time.

- Is the theme SEO optimized?  It doesn’t matter how good your content is if the search engines can’t find it.  Some things to check for as far as SEO compatible themes include an emphasis on content rather than graphics, have HTML validation, and should display post extracts on archive and category pages.

- Make sure your word press theme has a search capability.  This is a basic item, but there are still some themes that don’t have the compatibility for search.

- Is the theme already overused?  If too many marketers are already using the theme, your web site might have a “me too” feel.

- If you plan to have ads on your site – either banner ads or Adsense – make sure that the theme supports them in its design.

- Finally, can you grow with the design?  As your site develops, will you be able to keep the same look and feel?  You don’t want to surprise existing viewers with a new theme without a strategic marketing reason for it.

How to Improve Your Adsense Conversion Rates and Increase Your Profit

Why do some web site owners find that they only get a 1 percent Adsense conversion rate while others report a 20 percent or better average?  Adsense conversion depends on a number of factors and there are many things you can do on your web site to increase the number of click through’s.

First of all, what is Adsense?

When people buy ads on Google, they have the option of also placing the ads on the content network.  Actually, they default to placing the ads on the content network and have to remove that option if they want to only place the ads on Google’s search pages.  These ads on Google are called Adwords.

Adsense, on the other hand is Google’s word for you, the website owner, who places their ads on your pages.  You get a percentage of the amount of money that Google gets for each ad.

Of course, people have to actually click on the ad in order for you to get paid.  So, your job as an Adsense merchant is to do two things.  First, you have to get people to come to your site and then you have to get them to click on the ads on your page.

Getting people to your site is beyond the scope of this article, but I am going to show you how to get people to click on your ads.

First of all, you want to have laser-focused content.  A blog about your life where you talk about breaking up with your girlfriend one day and about memories about fishing with your grandpa the next is not going to make much money.  If you want to slap Adsense on a blog to make a few pennies, that’s okay.  But as a business model, it stinks.

Instead, create a website or blog around one highly focused, high earning concept.  For instance, a site about car insurance or personal injury law is going to make more money than a site about hummingbird feeders.  It’s a matter of supply and demand.

Next, you want to have a lot of pages of content.  Articles over 500 words just perform better.  People feel like they’ve gotten some “meat” from your site and don’t hit the back button as quickly.  You should have at least 20 pages of content on each Adsense site and many have hundreds of pages.  Not only does that give a visitor multiple places to enter, they can also navigate within your site to have a good experience.  Then, when they click away, it will likely be through one of your Adsense links rather than through a back button.

The look of your site also matters.  You don’t want the ads to just “blend in.”  Make the links stand out so people will know to click them.  Many studies have shown that the 250x250 leaderbox put flush left under the headline with the article wrapped around converts the best.

Of course, you should do your own testing on all of these features.  Adsense is a moving target.  The only way to stay on top of Adsense Conversion is to continually monitor your performance.

Huge Benefits of Business To Business Marketing

Business to business marketing has advantages over marketing to consumers that make marketing even easier.  Business to business companies market their products and services to businesses rather than consumers in general. Some of the most successful businesses exclusively supply to other businesses.  This is one of the most lucrative business models possible today, and it has proven to be especially profitable when the business is conducted online. If you’re considering going into business providing products or services, then you’ll want to look into operating a business to business company.

With online business to business operation and marketing, many of the expenses of running a traditional business are gone or greatly reduced.  This positively affects all the other aspects of running the company.  Less expense means less time spent managing the money going out, and more money for important things like business to business marketing and promotion. No company will succeed without an advertising and promotion budget.  And as many large, worldwide corporations have shown, the more money spent advertising, the more people become familiar with the brand. That breaks down into more customers and more profit.

A company that does its business chiefly online won’t need the storefront that a traditional business does. And company that relies on business to business marketing wouldn’t benefit from a traditional storefront anyway.  Since traditional customers won’t be coming in and out browsing goods or asking about services, the need for a traditional shop area is eliminated.  This drops overhead costs dramatically.  There’s no huge warehouse or building to pay heating, cooling and lighting bills on, and no need for insurance to protect customers.

There’s also no need to pay a staff to man such a store, which eliminates many of the expenses associated with being an employer.  An online company that chiefly exists through business to business marketing may still have employees and some expense, but the lack of a storefront will greatly reduce the costs associated with managing employees.

Now, money that would have been spent on necessities like payroll and utilities can be better spent business to business marketing and increasing the customer base.  The expense of promotion is also lessened with this business model because it’s so much easier to identify a target market.  There’s not as much need to figure out exactly which consumer to market to as there would be with most consumer products.

With business to business marketing, what it is that you’re offering to business automatically identifies your target markets for you. If you’re selling general business products like paper or office supplies, then your market is large and wide open, and you’d do best finding a particular angle to market your products to each specific industry.  But if you choose a product or service that’s very specialized, your marketing research is simplified a great deal.

The internet is great for b2b marketing because of its word-of-mouth properties. While many of your customers will find you thanks to your business to business marketing and promotion, many more will because of social networking.

Incredible Importance Of Marketing Positioning

When you’re trying to promote your business and its products or services, don’t overlook your marketing positioning. You’ve identified your target market, done your keyword homework, monitored and tweaked your various promotional strategies, so you’re off on the right foot.  But there are more things to consider to really promote your brand and see your company succeed. Positioning yourself within your market can make a huge difference in sales and your customer base.

Many people new to marketing might not even know what marketing positioning is.  It’s simply how you are perceived by your customers and potential customers.  You might think this is something out of your hands.  While it’s true that each person sees things through his or her own filter and makes his or her own opinions, there’s a lot you can do to position your company in a more favorable light.  This is where marketing becomes less about your company specifically and a little more about the entire market in general.

Consider the environment in your particular market right now. What problems does your industry face at the moment? Is there a downturn industry wide, or is business booming? Are customers’ needs being met, or is there room for improvement in certain areas? Also think about how your competition uses marketing positioning to improve their business, and how costly and inconvenient it is for customers to switch from one company or one brand to another. If you find that a hindrance, make it easier for customer to come to you.

Now, focus on your business. Think about what sets you apart from your competitor and what advantages your company has over your competitors. Compare your prices, convenience, level of service and even company size.  Do you have excellent customer service that’s more personal and prompt that the bigger company in your field?  Are your prices lower, or your guarantees more iron clad?  How does the quality of your product or service compare with your competition?

When it comes to marketing positioning, you have a variety of choices in how you go about it.  You can focus on specific products or services and their qualities.  You can focus on how the customer benefits from them, or how and when the product or service can be used. Identify your target users and appeal directly to them.  You can also position yourself against one of your competitor’s in a comparison situation, or conversely, do everything you can to disassociate yourself from them to avoid comparisons.

Your marketing positioning strategy should focus on which of those options stands out to you as the best and obvious choice.  If your company is smaller than Corporation X, but you give better, faster, friendlier service that such a huge company could ever hope to give, focus on that.  Brand yourself as the small business with heart that listens to customers, and portray larger business as out of touch with customers and suffering under the burden of their own size. That’s an example of good marketing positioning.

Make Money on Craigslist How to Use the World’s Best Classifieds

Do you know how to make money on Craigslist?  Craigslist is the world’s largest and best classified site.  And the best part is that almost all of the classified ads on Craigslist are free.

Craigslist started out as a simple email list that Craig Newmark sent to friends in the San Francisco bay area.  At first it was a list of the weekend’s parties and events.  As his personal list of recipients grew, people began asking him to list a roommate vacancy or a job opening.

Eventually, he decided to put the list online and let anyone post to it.  At first, the site was only for San Francisco area users.  But in 2000, they set up separate listings for Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Portland (OR), San Diego, Seattle, Washington DC, and Sacramento.

The site currently has more than 550 cities in 50 countries around the world.

Craigslist gets 12 billion page views a month and is the world’s 8th most popular English language website.

Knowing this, do you think you could make money on Craigslist?

Well, you need to keep in mind that Craigslist has an internal culture that isn’t overly friendly to internet marketing sales.  In fact, the official url is www.Craigslist.org with the .org reflecting the company’s “relatively noncommercial nature.”  There is a sense that it’s okay to list your couch for sale but not an ebook.

Still, internet marketers have found ways to make money on Craigslist.

There are several sections to Craigslist including community, housing, jobs, for sale, and services.  Craigslist asks that you post internet marketing opportunities in the appropriate services section.  For instance, a debt consolidation offer should go in the Financial Services section.

Not all marketers agree with the Craigslist guidelines and they post to other sections at their own risk.  For instance, you can create ads for ebooks and place them in the books for sale section or give away subscriptions to your free newsletter in the free section.

Many people promote affiliate marketing and other internet business opportunities in the jobs section.  This can be risky as these ads often get flagged.  If you get flagged too many times you can lose your rights to post to Craigslist.

The most visited cities are posted under “US Cities” on the right hand side of the screen.  San Francisco is, by far, the most visited page on the site.  If you want to get your web site indexed quickly, make a post to the San Francisco page.

You can make money on Craigslist if you use the world’s largest and best classified site wisely.

Online Marketing Promotion

There are several online marketing promotion strategies.  You need to find the combination that brings the amount of pre-targeted traffic to your website in order to make sales.

The big online marketing promotion strategies that I’m going to cover in this article include pay per click, search engine optimization, and article marketing.

Pay per click will give you the quickest bang for your buck.  You will be able to evaluate your success immediately when you use PPC.  Unfortunately, this means putting some of your money on the line.  Google’s Adwords program does not require you to pay for up to a month, but if you don’t make the money back immediately, you will be in debt.

When you do pay per click marketing as a form of online marketing promotion, you write a short ad (usually 90-125 characters) that appears alongside the search results on Google, Yahoo, or MSN.  Your ads may also appear on relevant web pages if you don’t turn that feature off.

The position of your ad will depend on a combination of the amount you are willing to pay for each visitor and the percentage of people who see your ad and are willing to click through.  Therefore, writing a good ad for low competition keywords is the way you make money with pay per click.

Now, you don’t have to pay to show up on Google’s search, but you do have to work for it.  You no longer get visitors just because you build a web site.  You have to entice Google to list you.

If you want Google to list you high in their search rankings, you must do a number of things on your web site and off your web site to attract the computer programs (also called “spiders”) that Google and the other search engines run to determine search ranking.

Your site itself must be search engine friendly which involves having the right coding in your html as well as contextually driven content.  You should also update your site frequently adding more pages to improve your search results.

But you also have to build a web of links to your site.  You can do this by submitting your website to directories, making blog posts about your website, and posting to classified sites.  One of the best ways to build links is to submit articles to article directories.

Article directories have two valuable purposes for online marketing promotion.  One is to build links which increases the chance that your own site will be indexed in the search engines.

But there is another valuable feature to placing articles about your topic on article directories.  Established directories have high page rank themselves, and the article you place will get the benefit of that.  When someone types in a search term related to your site, it might not show up, but if you have submitted an article to a directory, your article might.  Once the person reads the valuable content you have submitted in the article, they will be induced to click through to your website that you list in your resource box.   Some of the best article directories include EzineArticles, GoArticles, and IdeaMarketers.

A variation on the article directory is Squidoo.  On Squidoo, you create a lens which is several short articles and refer visitors to your site for more information.  Squidoo also offers a variety of tools such as embedded YouTube videos, polls, and guest books which make it a unique visitor experience.

There are many ways to get visitors to your site.  Pay Per Click, Search Engine Optimization, and Article Marketing are three online marketing promotion strategies.

Proven First Step In Ebook Internet Marketing

When it comes to creating an ebook internet marketing strategy, identifying your target market is the first and probably most important step to success. No ebook will interest all people online, so vague and general marketing that isn’t aimed at any specific group will turn out to be mostly a waste of time and money.  Even if the subject of your ebook is very general and you didn’t spend time doing careful evaluations before you wrote it, you’ll want to narrow down your market possibilities to get the most from your ebook internet marketing strategy.

Most people who write an ebook have a market in mind when they do so.  If you didn’t, don’t worry, you can find your market now.  Think about who will benefit from your ebook.  Will stay at home moms get the most out of the household management information, or is your ebook filled with info about how to train a parrot, or make money online?  Picture the person who will best want and need the information you’re providing.  Then aim your ebook internet marketing strategy at that group of people.

If you, like most ebook authors, already had your audience in mind as you wrote, then it’s just a matter of skipping that step and moving right to targeting your market. What kind of an internet search do you suppose your target market makes on a regular basis.  If your key reader will be someone who wants to know how to make extra money online, then they probably search on phrases like “make money online” and “how do I make money online?”  These are keywords and keyword phrases that will be an important part of your ebook internet marketing strategy.

Once you determine what your target market wants, whether it’s to do with internet riches or how to build a solar panel, and you come up with a few key phrases they’re likely to put into search engines, the next step is finding a list of keywords.  You can brainstorm and come up with some more valid ones, no doubt.  But to really hone your ebook internet marketing strategy, use a keyword tool online.

There are some good free ones out there associated with pay-per-click programs where you can put in a keyword and find several more. Plug in the best keywords you’ve come up with, and look at the results.  Not only will you be given a huge list of keywords that people have searched on recently, you’ll see which are the most popular, and how many other websites cater to that keyword.

Pick several of these keyword phrases.  Use some that are hugely popular, no matter how many other websites aim at those keywords.  But be sure to choose some keywords that don’t have many website results and aim at those, too.  Now, optimize your website for those keywords by providing content, one page per keyword is a good start, that people will find when they search on those phrases.  This ebook internet marketing strategy is a great first promotional step.

Search Engine PPC How to Make Money with Google and Other Ad Networks

One of the quickest ways to make money online is through search engine PPC.  But, you have to do it right because one of the quickest ways to lose money on the internet is also through search engine PPC.

Pay per click is a form of advertising where you only pay for the ad space if someone clicks through and lands on your web site.  Google’s Adwords is the largest network of search engine PPC.  Yahoo and MSN constitute the “second tier” while a number of less expensive engines can deliver targeted traffic starting at only 1 cent a click.

While some of the third tier ad networks still rank the ads according to the maximum bid, Google revolutionized search engine PPC when they set Adword’s functions to rank ads on a combination of the price of the ad and the click through rate.  Yahoo and MSN quickly followed suit.

The logic behind this is that if Google gets $1.00 for an ad that 100 people click through and $0.50 for an ad 500 people click through, they will make more money off the lower priced ad.  Therefore, they will reward the lower priced ad with a higher placement on the search results.

That’s good news for strong copywriters.  If you can convince people to click on a 95 character ad, you will be able to get more traffic at a lower price.

Now, some copywriters get pages and pages of copy to sell something.  As a PPC copywriter, you have only a few characters.  So, you have to make every one of them count.

The actual number of characters varies from ad network to ad network.  Google Adwords allows you 25 characters in the headline and two 35 word body text lines.  You also get to place a link to your web site in the ad.

One way to get search engine users to click through to your web page is to list a benefit in the form of a question.  For instance “Do you want to get rid of acne forever?” is a benefit in the form of a question.

When you set up your campaigns, you will want to have the main keyword appear in your ad.  This becomes bolded when a person types the keyword into the search engine and draws a viewer’s eye to the ad.  For instance, if you have a product about weight loss, write one ad featuring the word “weight loss” and another ad featuring the word “diet.”  If you just go with “diet” when some one types in “weight loss” your ad might be listed but the keywords won’t be highlighted.  Think of all of the variations of your word like “lose weight,” “keep the weight off,” and “lose fat.”

Another factor you should consider when developing your ads is the keyword competition.  Unless you have the money to blanket your market, you will want to choose keywords that do not have much competition.  This way, you can get keyword terms that deliver traffic to your site for less money.  As I write this, to get the number 1 position on the keyword “fast diet” you would have to pay $6.26.  However, there are a wide variety of keywords going for $0.05 – Adword’s minimum amount.  These include “your weight loss” and “lose weight metabolism.”

Finally, it is important with any Search Engine PPC campaign to constantly test and tweak your ads.  You need to know what ads are being clicked on and what ads are converting.  You can use the Google analytics program to tell you this.

You can make a fortune or lose your shirt on Search Engine PPC so learning everything about the system is important before you commit your hard earned dollars.

Secret Of Effective Internet Marketing

When you hear complaints from people who’ve tried going into business online and failed, chances are that it’s not that their efforts were wrong, they just weren’t practicing effective internet marketing.  This is where many of the internet marketing center and programs you can purchase fail the average business person.  They give an introduction to different ways you can promote your business online, but they only go that far and stop.  They don’t give in depth information about how to tweak these techniques to make them work for you, and what to do if they don’t seem to be working.

There’s only one true secret to effective internet marketing: Reevaluate often and change tactics when necessary. Most sources of information you’ll find on internet marketing urge you to try many different models of promotion.  Traditional ads, pay-per-click marketing, search engine optimization, joint ventures and a variety of other very good suggestions for ways to get your product or service out in front of those who would need or want it.  So you’re introduced to all these various ways of marketing.  Then many people think that’s all the information they need, so they jump in with both feet, blow their budget on pay-per-click advertising or some other expensive promotion.  The reasoning is that the profits made from this promotion will replace the funds spent and even increase them for the next advertising campaign.

Unfortunately, it rarely works just this way. Very often a person will put these marketing techniques into effect all at once hoping for a large return, but instead very little happens and now there’s little budget left to try again. While there’s nothing wrong with advertising campaigns that cost, like pay-per-click marketing, this type of promotion isn’t right for every business, despite what the expert might say.  And it’s hardly effective internet marketing to start out with pay-per-click spending.

Where most fail is that they don’t carefully monitor the response of every type of marketing they have in place.  Effective internet marketing isn’t done once and forgotten, left to work behind the scenes to generate huge profit.  It’s an evolving process, one that takes regular adjustment and change to be truly successful.  And you really can begin this process without spending very much money, and sometimes without spending anything at all.

Aim for the lower cost forms of marketing first.  Article marketing, for instance, and filling a blog with fresh keyword optimized content to attract good search engine ranking effective internet marketing and a great start.  Yes, you’ll want to optimize your web content, even if you have pay someone to do it correctly.

But hold off on the expensive pay-per-click campaign until you see which keywords and which articles and blog post are referring you the most customers. Then put your money where your customers are, in essence, by creating a pay-per-click campaign based on results you’ve already seen with other methods.  Effective internet marketing requires you to reevaluate all of this often, because your best keywords can change even from day to day.

Sell Online Products through Affiliate Marketing Strategies

Do you want to sell online products?  It is actually not all that difficult to get started selling products online.

You don’t even have to create or develop your own product to sell online products.  Affiliate marketing is a strategy where you sell other people’s products.

In affiliate marketing, you are the middleman between a buyer and a seller.  Your job is to pre-sell products and deliver warm buyers to the end seller’s home page.

Pre-selling is an art that not everyone has mastered.  You may be so used to the continual onslaught of advertising that you think that in order to sell online products you have to “sell, sell, sell.”  In fact, you are better off providing a good user experience to your visitors and then making softball recommendations to people who have come to trust you.

For instance, if you want to sell an ebook on planning a wedding on a budget, you could create a blog about your own wedding.  You could talk about the trials and tribulations of mother in law interference, dieting so you can fit into the wedding dress, and how your caterer cancelled at the last minute.

Then, from time to time, you will mention just how much good advice you’re getting from an ebook you bought which has helped you to plan your wedding on a budget.  Include a link to the wedding book with your affiliate code imbedded into it.

Another way to pre-sell to your visitors is to offer a free report in exchange for their email address.  You can put affiliate links for 5 or so products in the report.

But, once you have their email, you can continue to promote products.  There are two ways to do this.  One is to offer a series of emails offering useful advice and have an inconspicuous link to an affiliate product at the end of the email.  The other is to send stand alone advertisements to your list from time to time.  Remember that you can’t just “sell, sell, sell” even in email marketing.  You have to continually deliver good value to the customer.

If you want to sell online products, the opportunities for the type of products available abound.

- One way to find products is to look at major networks like linkshare, shareasale, and commission junction for physical products and clickbank for digital products.

- Another strategy is to go to large stores such as Wallmart and Amazon that offer a variety of products to promote and set up an account directly with them.

- A final strategy is to type in your keyword plus the phrase “affiliate product” into a search engine.  For instance, a search of “Debt Relief” + “Affiliate Program” turns up more than 90,000 results.  Many of these are affiliate programs in the debt relief niche.

Start to sell online products today through affiliate marketing strategies.

Should You Pay an Affiliate to Promote Your Product

Many product owners wonder whether they should pay an affiliate to promote their product.  While I think the answer is generally yes, there are exceptions to when you want to pay an affiliate.

You can only get so many people to come to your website on your own.  Your pay per click resources are limited and you can only write so many articles and create so many back links before your time is exhausted.  If you have an army of affiliates promoting your product, you simply will be able to make more sales.  If your affiliates aren’t poaching off of the sales you would make yourself, paying affiliates to market your product is a no brainer.

If you were selling chocolate chip cookies, each additional dozen cookies would cost you money to produce.  But digital products are different.  It costs you almost the same amount of money to produce one product as it does to produce a million.  Therefore, why wouldn’t you want to pick up low hanging fruit by paying affiliates to promote your product?

Additionally, once you get a customer, you can sell to him or her for life.  If you have structured your product line correctly, you can pay an affiliate 75 percent of the original purchase price, but continue to market to that customer for the rest of his life without paying the affiliate any additional money.

Affiliate marketers are very good at their area of specialization or they wash out quickly.  Some are experts at pay per click and know how to deliver traffic to your site that converts.  Others put in the time to write articles that pre-sell customers on your product before they ever land on your page.  Video marketing, forum marketing, and classified ads are other specialities of affiliate marketers.

So, are there times when it doesn’t make sense to pay affiliate marketers?  Yes, there are.

If you are only going to sell 100 of an item and you have 1,000 responsive people on your personal email list, you will probably not want to pay affiliates.  When you can sell out the subscription yourself, there is no need to split the proceeds.

Another time when you may want to consider not using affiliates is when you want to control how the product is marketed.  When you open the product up to affiliate marketers, you lose control of the advertising process.  Marketers could spam safe lists or classified sites and give your product a bad name.

Most product owners, however, find that the benefits outweigh the down sides of paying affiliates

Clickbank is the most popular way to set up an affiliate program for digital products.  PayDotCom tried to give Clickbank a run for its money, but hasn’t taken off as well as the promoters hoped.  You can also set up a script to run an affiliate program.  The $7 script and Rapid Action Profits are two scripts which let you pay affiliates.

Start a Computer Business in Your Spare Time

There’s never been a better time to start a computer business.  While the overall economy is in the tank, advertising expenditures on the internet are constantly going up.  The internet is sucking all of the advertising from print and television.

What is even better is that it is incredibly easy to start a computer business.  There’s very little cost involved and you can get started in your spare time without leaving your job.

The first thing that I have to tell you about starting an internet business is that there is not one single model to follow.  Many people who want to get started online find that there are so many models that it is overwhelming.  When you do your research, keep in mind that there are many ways to make money and you have to find the one that is right for you.

There are three different basic business models for those wanting to start a computer business.  You can either create a product to sell yourself, sell other people’s products, or provide a service.  All business models boil down to one of these three concepts.

When most people think of products, they think of physical goods.  Indeed, you can sell physical products like crocheted doilies or your home baked chocolate chip cookies through the internet.  But remember, when people go online, they are largely looking for information.  So, creating an information product is the fastest way to make money online.

It is interesting that people will pay $15 for a paperback book at the bookstore that runs 300 pages, but they will pay $47 for a 60 page ebook that they download and print out on their own paper.  However, that’s the economic reality of the internet.  And, instead of having a publisher who gives you a dollar or two for the product, you get to keep the whole amount.

The next thing you can provide is services.  If you write well, have graphic design skills, or can whip up a software program with ease, you can offer your services on the internet.  There are sites like elance and rentacoder where buyers and sellers of such services meet.  You can also go to forums where internet marketers chat and strike up relationships with people who can help you get started and who want to use your services.

Finally, if you want to start a computer business, you can sell other people’s products.  This is called “Affiliate Marketing.”  Basically, you are the middle man between the buyer and seller.

You can sell physical products ranging from house wares to diamond jewelry as an affiliate marketer.  You can also sell other people’s information products.

Affiliate commissions range from 4% to 75% of the total sale price.  Because many information products offer 75% of relatively high purchase prices, many affiliate marketers begin by selling information products.  The largest clearing house of information products is clickbank.com where 10,000 products are available for you to sell.

Once you choose a business model, you can begin to figure out how to make sales.  But don’t jump around from one thing to another always in hopes of jumping the “next big thing” bandwagon.  Rather, decide on a model that works for you and run with it.  That’s how you start a computer business in your spare time.

True Value Of An Internet marketing Center

An internet marketing center online should be your place for finding good promotional ideas, marketing help and information about various programs available online. It should be the equivalent of a small library that’s focused on nothing but helping you succeed in business and assisting you in finding the best way to marketing your product or service online. While there’s no doubt that it’ll try to sell you something, perhaps many things, there should be enough free and complete information there to keep you well-informed and assisted whether or not you spend a dime.

When you’re looking online for answers to marketing and promotion questions or looking to see how others have solved the problem you’re facing, you’ll find a lot of information that’s designed only to get you spend your money.  This type of information becomes quite easy to spot after a while.  You’ll think you’re finding an article that’s going to help you with your dilemma or give you some idea for your new marketing campaign, and instead you’re faced with one long page extolling the benefits of a package that’s for sale.

You’ll probably find an internet marketing center with the same type of search, but this time you’ll actually find some good and helpful information right along with the products for sale.  The sales pitch will be about the same—it’ll explain to you how you need a particular product, maybe several products—and you’ll soon wonder how you ever got along without some of them.  That just shows the effectiveness of the internet market center and its own promotion goals. At least if you’re reading about promotion and how to sell from within a site like that, you know that they practice what they preach.

Any site where you find information that helps you is useful.  But it’s important, particularly when it comes to an internet marketing center, you learn to weed out the useful information and disregard the rest.  This isn’t always easy, especially when you first discover sites like these. It tends to all seem useful. And the long sales letters with all the testimonials are very compelling.  But it pays to go slowly and never make spur of the moment purchases from an internet marketing center.  Chances are good that you’ll find the same marketing and promotion information for free and you won’t need to spend all that money for “insider secrets.”

A good website of this sort will have a forum or message board where visitors can interact and ask questions about various aspects of internet marketing, about the different programs available, and about specific strategies and opinions.  Some sites offer these forums to people who have paid a membership fee or purchased a certain product.  But if you look carefully, you’ll find other sites that offer free forums to anyone interesting in marketing and promotion online.  Overall, a good internet marketing center with active user forums where you can bounce ideas off other marketers can be a valuable tool in your marketing arsenal.

What Is the Definition of Marketing

If you asked many people for the definition of marketing, you’d get many wrong answers.  At the very least, some would be right or be on the right track, but still give an answer that’s incomplete. Many people would answer that marketing was advertising or promotion when actually that’s only part of the answer.  Marketing is everything you do to get your product or service noticed by the customer, and that include advertising and promotion.

If you learn the definition of marketing from a textbook, it’s even more involved and detailed.  Marketing is broken down into what’s known as the 4 P’s. These make up the “marketing mix” as it was defined by Harvard business professor in the 1960s. Product, price, placement and promotion. Product simply means the product you’re offering an all that it entails like its warrantee, guarantees, etc. Pricing is simply the act of choosing an appropriate price for the product. This can include things besides money, like time and energy.

Placement is the distribution of the product—how it gets into the customers’ hands.  Point-of-sale, retail, online, which area the product is sold in, the demographic and exact selling environment all make up this part of the definition of marketing.  And finally, the last P, promotion include advertising, publicity, selling philosophies and branding rounds out what marketing is and what  a good marketing strategy must take into consideration.

This 4 P model works best when applied to consumer goods of fairly low to moderate cost.  High-end items require adjustments to the definition of marketing to make them successful. And the terminology used when it comes to marketing a service is different and a bit more complicated, warranting 3 more Ps on top of the original 4.

People become one of the crucial factors in the definition of marketing a service.  Each person a customer comes into contact is even more important than usual when service marketing.  This P can also refer to the customers. Process refers to the process of providing the service. Physical evidence is a part of the definition of marketing services that no one would consider purchasing a service without.  This makes up all of the testimonials and case studies that demonstrate how other people liked or were helped by the product.  Since a service is something that can’t be seen or felt until it’s delivered, this evidence that others benefited from the same thing is very important.

Web marketing has its own set of 4 Ps, as well. Personalization is an important part of marketing online because it allows customers to create their own products. Participation in a company’s website and activities attracts customers. Predictive modeling is a term that refers to the mathematical formula for sales models that most of us never need know about it.  And peer-to-peer is an important and relatively new term.  Social networking and social bookmarking are two prime examples of this.  Peer-to-peer or word of mouth is a crucial part of the definition of marketing successfully online.

Why Hire An Internet Marketing and Advertising Company

When it comes to promoting your company online, you might have considered hiring an internet marketing and advertising company.  Because of the importance of marketing and time and effort it takes, hiring someone to do it for you can be a good idea. Not only will it allow you more time to work on your business instead of worrying about marketing, you’ll also benefit from having an internet marketing and advertising company working on your campaign.

Unless a person spends a great deal of time keeping up with internet marketing techniques, it’s very difficult to stay abreast of new ideas and methods of marketing. An internet marketing and advertising company however, makes this their business, so they always have the latest and best information when it comes to marketing a business online.

A long-term campaign with an internet marketing and advertising company will probably be a considerable expense.  But before you discount it based on cost, consider the value of what you’ll receive rather than the dollar amount you’re putting out initially.  A good internet marketing campaign can offer returns far and beyond what you spend—of course, it wouldn’t be worth it otherwise.  But the returns you’ll receive from expert advice and promotion from an internet marketing and advertising company won’t start and then stop, they should continue for some time.

If you’re already in an established business and your numbers need a boost, hiring experts shouldn’t be too much of a hardship.  You already know that the money you put into advertising and promotion flows back to you many times over, and you probably have more capital available to enter into such an agreement.  If you’re just starting out in business, consider the money you spend on good promotion and advertising now a very vital expense. If you can get started out on the right foot getting your brand recognized in the right way and in the right places, you’ll have overcome one of the hurdles everyone starting an online business has to face.

Working with an internet marketing and advertising company doesn’t take you out of the promotion equation.  Usually it’s more a partnership than a simple delegation of promotional tasks.  Once you together decide which direction to move in, then the company may handle many of the day to day promotional activities like blog posts, social networking and social bookmarking, for instance. But not before you along with them have decided which aspects of your business to focus on, and which market to target.

Working with the experts, especially in the beginning, can also be a learning tool should you ever want to get more involved with your business’ internet marketing and promotional efforts.  Or you can have staff who work with them closely and learn the many techniques that they use to best market your company.  Then you can take back some of the promotional tasks should you want to, or should you want the internet marketing and advertising company to focus on another area of your business.

Why Strategic Marketing Planning Is Critical And Necessary

Even before the days of the Internet when advertising was done solely through television, billboards, magazines, radio and direct mailing, strategic marketing planning could often make or break a company.  Considering the high cost of all forms of marketing, making a mistake about where to advertise and whom to focus the advertising on could lose a company thousands upon thousands of dollars. While some forms of advertising and promotion are much less costly today, planning your advertising strategy for success is still just as important.

An old saying says that embarking on anything without a plan is a little bit like trying to get to a place you’ve never been without a map. And it is true that people who make plans and write down their goals are more likely to achieve them than those who just have a general idea where they’re going and no real concrete plans about how to do it, and no definite idea about when they should arrive.  Your strategic marketing planning can give you a road map, and even an idea of when you should see results, and how good those results should be.

Let’s continue the idea of the traveler with no map and no real sense of his destination.  What happens when he gets where he wanted to go, and it turns out to not be the place he’d dreamed of.  What then?  Without a plan, he’s got no real recourse except to keep going aimlessly or to go back the way he came.  With strategic marketing planning, once you see your results and they’re not what you’d hoped for, you have a plan in place to deal with it.  You have set measures for how to make changes and improvements to work toward the results you wanted in the beginning.  You’re working toward a goal, not meandering aimlessly and using intuition and guesswork to build your business.

When you’re ready for strategic marketing planning, consider sitting down with the experts and building your plan. You can find a consultant who will just help you with the plan, should you not want to hire someone to handle promotions altogether.  But just having an expert help you with your promotion planning can confirm for you that what you’re doing is sound.  And it can make sure that your goals are achievable, too, so you can avoid the disappointment of setting goals that are too high to reach.

Strategic marketing planning gives you a concrete result to aim for.  You know what you want, now it’s just up to you to take the steps to achieve it.  And as the results come in, you’ll have methods of adjusting your plan to build upon those good results, or steer your promotional activities away from methods that aren’t working.  You’ll know how to adjust certain promotions to make them work better, and how to judge whether a specific type of promotion just isn’t right for your business.  With strategic marketing planning, you’ll always have a step ready for you to take next.

Your Advertising Business Internet Marketing Plan

One of the built-in benefits of running a business that involves helping other businesses promotional effort is the built-in testimonial of an advertising business internet marketing plan. When you take part in a business where advertising is a key service you provide, then the ability for your customers to find you and be swayed to employ you is a testament that you understand internet marketing and advertising.  If this is the kind of business you’re looking to go into because you want to consult or handle promotions for other businesses, then don’t miss the opportunity to point out to potential customers that you grow your own business with the very techniques you want to provide for them.

While it’s inherent that an advertising business internet marketing plan must be successful if they do find clients, you must also bring this to the potential client’s attention.  Of course you’ll want to have concrete results from other companies that you’ve helped promote products and services.  But don’t neglect to use your own promotional techniques and results as tools to market your own business. While your knowledge of advertising business internet marketing techniques maybe be clear since you’re earning their business, it might consciously occur to them so be sure and point it out.

Advertising business internet marketing has the benefit that many other online businesses don’t have--built-in testimonial information from within their very own business!  Take screen shots of your search engine rankings on various searches and use those.  Describe your own company’s efforts towards promotion and the results.  Reiterate the ways in which customers find you—when you mention the manner in which that particular client found your advertising business internet marketing campaign, they’ll be impressed—and stress that you can do for them what you’ve done for your own company.

An advertising business internet marketing strategy of this sort is especially key for a new business with no other clients to give testimonials and no other sites on which to show real results. In a case like this, it’s not going to be easy to convince a potential client to sign on, since there’s no real evidence that you can do what you claim as far as their promotional efforts go.  But if you show your marketing efforts and the good results, you do have evidence for them to see.

While it might not be as compelling evidence as another site with concrete results, it will still show potential clients that you do know how to market a business online, and you do know how to implement a promotional plan.  For someone starting out in an advertising business that focuses on internet marketing, in order to get some evidence beyond your own website, create one or two websites based on varied interests.

They don’t have to be businesses, just general information.  Use all your promotional skills in tweaking the site and the methods of marketing you use for it.  Then your advertising business internet marketing skills will have more good results to show potential clients.

Your Local Company Internet Marketing

For an online company, internet marketing is important. But even for brick and mortar companies, even those who don’t sell anything online but rather cater to local customers, internet marketing can expand the business and give the company more exposure locally. If you own a small company that relies on local business alone rather than the ability to take orders online from all over the country or all over the world, don’t discount the power of internet marketing.

For a local company, internet marketing that gives you exposure to people thousands of miles away is pretty pointless.  There’s no need to invest in what can be expensive marketing campaigns like pay-per-click or network-wide banner advertising, for instance. You know your target market—local people.  So the only promotion and advertising that will do you any good are promotions which target that market specifically.

If you don’t have a website already, get one. If you know enough HTML to get a web presence up then by all means do so. If not, pay someone to do it for you.  What might seem like an unnecessary expense will actually become a very important marketing tool.  You’ll also want to make sure that your website is search engine optimized for your local area, and it’s well worth learning how to do this yourself or paying an expert to do it for you.

When it comes to your company, internet marketing with search engine optimization won’t be like the SEO efforts needed by an online company.  If you run a computer repair shop, for instance, you won’t want to focus your attention and money on very general keywords that might be good for an online business whose customers can come from anywhere.  You’ll want them optimized for your local area.  Computer repair San Antonio, for instance, might be a good keyword for you.

You might be surprised how many local potential customers use the internet to search now instead of the yellow pages or simply by driving by and stopping.  Most people who use the internet at all use it to search for items they want to purchase before they buy.  Someone who needs a computer repaired in your town might very well use that exact keyword search phrase.  Springfield computer repair something similar would be something commonly typed in for someone in that town needing a computer fixes.  For your company, internet marketing efforts that focus on your local area can bring in lots of extra business because people will find you online.

Another advantage is that other small businesses in your field might feel the same way you did, that a website and your company internet marketing was a waste of time.  So if someone from your local area does a search like that above, your site will be the one they see.  And if other business are online and you’ve spent some time and maybe a little  money on your company internet marketing, your site will still probably be the one they see first.

How to Dress for Success in Home Business

We have all seen the advertisements on the Internet about working in your pajamas, setting your own hours, and other things that entice us to want to work from home. But even though you aren't going anywhere, you should still remember that you are a business person.

The first thing that you should keep in mind is that you should stay away from working in your pajamas. If you are in your pajamas, what are you thinking about? You are thinking about sleeping and that does not motivate you. It makes you want to crawl back into bed and not get anything done.

Instead of wearing your pajamas, wear something that would be considered business casual. Even if you are the only one that sees you dressed that way, it will make you feel like you are working instead of just doing something from home.

Something that those who work from home run into is that their friends and family don't think that they
have a real job because they are sitting home in their pajamas and slippers, while the rest of the work force goes to work in suits and skirts.

If you dress in business casual and someone does stop by, it will show that you are serious about your job, and that you have a -real- job. It will make you feel better and it will make them feel better as well.

When you look like a professional, you will feel like a professional as well.

Communication is Key

One of the key things in any business is communication, and that goes for home based businesses as well. Often times, written communication of some form is what brings new customers in, so you want to make certain that you catch their eyes but don't seem overbearing.

Email - If, like most home business, you have the ability to communicate online, one of your biggest tools is going to be email. You want to first of all create an email address that is professional yet won't make people feel threatened when they see it. It should reflect your business and what it does, but also make you seem approachable.

Messenger - Whether you use AIM, MSN, or Yahoo messenger, you are going to also want to create a user name just for your business, It's a good idea to make sure that you have all of the available messengers.

This way, people can choose which one to use if they want to talk to you personally. Trillian is a great program which allows you to use all of your messaging programs on one application instead of downloading them all separately. As with your email, you want your user names to be professional but not threatening. They should reflect your business and your professionalism.

You want the first impression that people have of you to be a good one, so make certain that your email and your instant messengers are professional and let people know that you are serious about your business.

Advertising Your Home Business

Once you have started your business, the next thing that you are going to want to do is to advertise your product or service so that you can get more customers. Again, one of the best places to do this is the Internet.

Email signature - One of the best places to advertise is on your email signature. It's a non threatening way to advertise your business, and sometimes people click on it without even realizing what it is. Don't make it long or complicated, just let them know what it is that you do.

Networks - There are plenty of networking sites around that allow home business owners to advertise their products and services. It's a good way to connect with others and meet some new friends, as well as find new clients.

Blog - If you have a blog, advertise your business on your blog! Make sure that you choose good, solid keywords, and that you let people know what it is that you are selling. Make your advertisement stand out, make it noticeable, and make it interesting.

Forums - Not only are forums a good place to meet people, but they are also great places to advertise.
There are forums that are set up simply for people to advertise their goods and services, and you will never know what you might find there.

No one will know what it is that you are selling or offering by way of products and services unless you tell them. These are just a few of the ways that you can get yourself noticed.

Your Inside Scoop Keyword Search Engine Ranking

To understand how to get more efficient at finding out how to get the most out of keyword search engine ranking tools, you may need to know how they work. Search engines use things called bots or spiders to travel on the web and survey what is going on to build their databases. They go to each website and collect data that is then added to the search engine index. When someone does a search for something on the search engine, it will use all the data gathered to give the one searching the choices it believes best fit their needs. It also ranks them in order of how closely the site will meet their needs based on the way they search was phrased.

The most commonly used way the spiders gather the information is looking for keywords that seem pertinent to peoples searches. The keyword can be any work on a web page. Certain words and phrases tell the bots what it is this page has on it and stores that information so it can be used to aid in searches. The keyword search engine ranking efforts you use will make the most out of this.

One thing that web builders and authors may do is use meta tags to help aid the bots in their search for relevant information on your page. This will help the search engines know what the web page is about instead of having the bots guess and try to figure it out. This will help make sure that your website is viewed by people who might actually think your information is useful. Proper search  engine optimization techniques will help make the most of these meta tags and will also help you figure out what words and phrases in your text will help get it noticed better by searchers and make the keyword search engine ranking high.

What is important for any website is generating a lot of website traffic. There are many advertising techniques you can use but having your website search engine optimized will often time help  generate traffic more than any advertising. To get the most out of it is important that you compile a large range of keywords that could help get traffic to your website. Brainstorming is a good technique to use but also are the various free keyword search tools that can give you a list of relevant words to use in your writing. Keyword search engine ranking tools that are available use information form the search engines themselves to find out what words or phrases are being used to find information about what you are offering.

You will also want to find out how much competition you will have with others trying to use your keywords. You may have a niche you are trying to reach and have found keywords used by everyone interested in your products/services, but it won't do you any good if the market is already saturated. If there are hundred of thousands of choices for those who are using those keywords you may have too much of a battle to fight to claim your piece of the pie. A good keyword tool can help you with this.

There are many other things that you can know to improve the keyword search engine ranking of your websites. If you gather as much information about this and incorporate it into you web site design and learn more about how search tools are used, the search engine ranking of your webpages will grow.

Who Wants to Dominate the Keyword Search Engine Ranking

The content on the Web grows at such an expanding and rapid pace that some experts these days are saying that Web content is completely out of control. There are millions and millions of Web sites and Web pages out there, and without a quality search engine to help people find what they're looking for, the Internet is practically useless. That's why search engines are critical to keeping Web users on track, and why Google is the king of search. Practically every Internet marketer knows that you've got to develop a good keyword search engine ranking if you want your site or blog to be found by today's Web surfers. Only through a sound approach, hard work, and patience can your site or blog cut through the ever noisier Web.

It used to be that it was easy to develop a great keyword search engine ranking. All it took was cramming a bunch of keywords on a Web page and within no time flat your site would be ranked in the top listings of every search engine. These days, search engines (and Google in particular) are much smarter than that. They've worked and re-worked their search ranking formulas to discount pages that are just a pile of random keywords, or pages that are crammed with keywords and lack relevant, useful text. Today you've got to have content -- good quality, useful, rich content -- in order to grab a nice keyword search engine ranking.

And you know what? It still isn't enough to just make sure that your pages have top quality content. No, you've got to have content but that content has to be kept fresh and updated all the time. The search engines like freshness and they like relevance and they like sites that other sites find useful and worthy. That's why search engines these days also include a provision to account for the number of sites that link back to your site as part of their keyword search engine ranking formulas. That means you've got to go out and develop links from other Web properties if you want to garner a top ranking in the modern search engines.

The Web was once referred to as the "wild west," a place where you'd find an anything goes mentality. Those were the days when anyone could slap up a Web site and dominate the search rankings in just a matter of hours. Those days are gone. Search engines are using sophisticated keyword search engine ranking formulas to weed out the gunslingers and bring a new air of civility to the Web through well-designed rankings for Web search. That means if you're into Internet marketing, you've got to do your homework before you try to dominate the keyword search engine rankings for your niche.

It will be hard work, but in the end there's no doubt you'll find that it was totally worth it.

The Web Search Engine Ranking Friendly Website

Your website can be getting hits all day if your design is web search engine ranking friendly. You can make the best and most beautiful and informative website on the internet that people in your niche has ever seen but no one will ever see it if it isn't search engine optimized. The prices that you have may be the best as well but unless you use some smart search engine optimization techniques no one will ever know.

The best kind of website promotion that you can have is making sure that it is built so that search engines find it attractive. It has to have your information phrased in such a way that the bots that they send out to see what types of information your website has will be ranked high in searches.

There are a couple things that you can do to help it be picked up by the search engines. One is to make the best usage of space on your website. Make sure that you have your keywords placed within the HTML code for your images, flash objects and videos. In the "alt" part of your HTML code place a description using the keywords or phrase. The search engines may not be able to read your graphics or see what words you have in your videos but they can see the HTML.

For improved website search engine ranking, you will also want to make sure that you are creating relevant title tags. This isn't talking about the title that those viewing your website see, it is talking about the HTML tags that the search engines see that tell it what your site is all about. Some will have the same title tag for every page of their web site but doing so isn't optimizing it for search engines. Each page should have it's own unique HTML title tag relevant to the information on that page. That is guaranteed to make your web search engine ranking higher not only for your site but for that page in particular.

Make sure that you don't have any duplicate information on your web pages. Don't have the identical thing posted on different pages. This will not help draw attention to your website but may actually cause the bots to ignore your page. Also do not have hidden text in your page. Web builders in the past use to hide text in a page that viewers were unable to see but bots were able to pick up on and help with your web search engine ranking. Search engines caught on to this and now will hide web pages totally that it believes has hidden text in it.

These ideas are just a few of the necessary steps to help your search engine optimization efforts succeed. A web site design that isn't using these techniques will not be making the most of any opportunities and may get you ignored by not just Google but Yahoo or any other search engines. Doing it correctly though and constantly finding ways to have your web site design optimized will help your web search engine ranking go through the roof.

The Newbies Success Guide to Sell Stuff on eBay

I just cleaned out my attic and garage and found that I had a whole pile of stuff I needed to get rid of. I hated the idea of dumping this stuff out by the curb for the garbage collector to pick up, especially since some of these things still had plenty of useful life in them. I had an old mantle clock, some really nice picture frames, some empty suitcases, and a collection of movies I hadn't watched in ages. So rather than junk everything, I decided it was time to sell stuff on eBay.

I'd never really used an online auction site before but I figured it couldn't be too difficult to sell stuff on eBay, so I went over to the site and looked around a bit. No doubt there were plenty of people selling lots of similar items through the auction site, so I knew that I should be able to do so as well. I checked the various categories that eBay has for their listings, and I found that there are a vast number of sections where items can be posted for sale.

After poking around a while I decided that I was ready to get started. Just like many other sites on the Internet, an auction site like eBay is going to require you to set up an account and create a profile before you begin to take advantage of their service. So I decided I would create an account, and it only took me a few minutes to get my information entered and verified, and within no time at all I was ready to sell stuff on eBay.

Next, I had to create some listings for the items I wanted to sell. In order to make that a bit easier on myself, I did a search using eBay's simple search field and found people selling the same sorts of things I had to offer. After all, if I planned to sell stuff on eBay for the first time, I might as well take advantage of other people's experience and expertise, right? Within a half an hour I had found several auction listings that were similar to my own items, and I used these listings as a guide for creating mine. To me, that's a smart way to sell stuff on eBay: find out what works and duplicate it.

In the end, I found that it was pretty darned easy to sell stuff on eBay, and now that I've got the hang of it, I'll probably do it a lot more often. In a matter of a little over a week I sold all but one of those items from the attic and the garage, and I stand to pocket over $100 from things I would have otherwise put out by the curb for the trash collector. To my mind, that's a big win.

Stop Wasting Your Google Adwords Money Now

If you're interested in making money online, you are probably looking for ways to drive traffic to your blog, your web site, or other online offers you are going to promote. One of the most reliable methods to find targeted traffic and bring it to your online site is through a popular method called pay-per-click marketing. In pay-per-click (or PPC) programs, advertisers pay a planned rate for each person who clicks on their ad. These rates are usually set through a bidding process, with the highest bidder getting the best placement. The number one PPC program is operated by the Web's number one search engine, Google. The Google Adwords PPC program is the most widely used pay-per-click program among internet advertisers, and if you want to compete for advertising space through Google's PPC program you will definitely want to make certain you protect your Adwords money.

Competition for the best keywords on Google's search pages is fierce. The top bids on the most popular keywords can run as much as $50 or $60 each. It is easy to see that random bidding on untested keywords is a quick way to burn through your Adwords money, and exhaust your advertising funds rapidly. There are a number of ways to ensure that you get the most out of your Adwords money, and one of the best ways to protect yourself is to only pay for the best converting ads. Ads which deliver the best ratio of sales to clicks are considered the highest "converting".

So how can you be certain which ads will convert the best? One good method to find the best converting ads is to use a process known as "split testing". Split testing works like this: you devise several ads for each set of keywords you intend to bid on. Using the Google Adwords management interface, you can schedule these ads to be rotated evenly. That means if you have two ads for a set of keywords, and your ads are shown one hundred times, each of the two unique ads will be shown about fifty times each. By embedding tracking code in your link or landing page, you can protect your Adwords money by identifying which of the ads gets the most clicks and which of the ads generates the most sales. Once you've determined which ad sells the best, ensure the best use of your Adwords money by dropping the poorer performing ads.

Bad management of your Google Adwords advertising campaign can cost you a lot of money. Random bidding and failure to test your conversion rates for each ad can be fatal mistakes that will cause you to burn through your Adwords money all too quickly. If you're planning to advertise using Google's PPC program, make sure you don't fall victim to a costly mistake.

Small Business to Business Strategies and Principles

The small business niche is one of the best markets there is so your strategies should be as well. The SBA says that any business with less that 500 employees. That would mean that in the US alone there are over 15 million small businesses. Considering how small many of those are those small local businesses, there are a staggering number of needs. There are very few of those businesses who have all the tools they need to be successful. What they need is you and what you have the ability to offer.

There are some things that you have to know about small businesses before you can do well at meeting their needs. You have to realize that even though they have an independent spirit they know full well their limitations and that they need to outsource quite a bit of work. The small business owner has limited resources, such as time and money and keep a tight reign on what little they have. Each small business owner considers what they are doing to be the most valuable thing in the world. Small businesses also have a tendency to be very loyal to those who take care of them and treat them well.

There are things that you need to do when not just seeking small businesses but keeping their business when you have it. You need to respect their independent spirit and treat them with respect. Don't treat them as a target but as a very important person or business. Come to them in a spirit of cooperation. Make yourself their ally.

Time is precious to the small business owner. Learn to value theirs and they will value yours. The small business owner already puts in a lot of time as it is. Be quick and to the point with what you are trying to offer the small business in your marketing strategy. Get to the point and get out of their hair as quickly as possible. Do let it be known that you are trying to show respect for their time. No need to be secretive about that.

In the same way realize that this isn't some big corporation with tons of cash to throw around. These are small businesses just like you who may be in a lot of debt already. They aren't suckers, they are shrewd business people who protect like a pit bull what little they have. Remember this in your pricing (which is always a matter to consider in your marketing strategies) and remember it when you in communication with the small business owner. Show that you are not only aware to their limited means but show sympathy and a willingness to work out something with them.

Whatever you do, don't talk down to them. Treat them with respect and as not just your equal but as a very important entity. The strategies that you use in marketing to small businesses, if you want to be successful, have to show to them that they are the most important customers you will have which they truly are.

Planning a Strategic Marketing Campaign Will Improve Your Aim

If you want to go hunting you have to know what you are going to hunt. Strategic marketing planning will help you find out what customers you are looking for and how to catch them. Essential to any marketing campaign is finding and knowing your target audience. Knowing your target audience doesn't just mean identifying who they are but getting to know how they think and what they want and where to find them. After you know them you can  find ways to catch them. The better you know them, the better your chances are at getting to them before your competition does.

Selecting your target market is only the beginning but it is a very important beginning. It is best to go after customers that you have some knowledge about and have a legitimate chance of getting with what you have available. While a BB gun might be enough to take down a small bird, you wouldn't want to try it on a grizzly bear. Use what you have at your disposal and use it on those you have a legitimate opportunity to be successful with. Choose a target audience whose needs you can meet. There is no shame in starting small. Use that audience to learn with and prepare for bigger targets. Many people choose to work exclusively with small markets and do quite well.

There are several factors to consider when getting to know your target audience and planning a strategic marketing campaign to go after them. You will want to know as much about their demographics as possible. Pay attention to things like their age, sex, race or ethnicity, education, income,  family size, or any other factor that can have an impact on their buying behaviors. Don't believe that you are being racist or buying into stereotypes when you do this. Every demographic group has   behaviors that are special to them, even though they may be subtle. Do your best to notice what those behaviors are and cater to them.

Knowing your target audience is incredibly important for anyone planning for a successful strategic marketing plan because it is how they use that knowledge to their benefit that will separate themselves from their competition. All of that knowledge is going to give you insight into how to meet the needs of those future customers of yours.

In planning your strategic marketing campaign you need to know how the other elements of your marketing mix will work together to meet the needs of your target market. The other areas to take into consideration will be things like the particular product or service you want to offer, your method of distribution, your promotions, and the price. The better your knowledge is of your market, the better your ability will be to find a mix that will have an advantage over your competitors.

Inside Scoop on Making Money Easy Online

Some people say that the only way to make good money is to work hard. No doubt that in the past, hard work was one way to get ahead. But even hard work wasn't a guarantee of success. These days, in the age of technology, the internet has made making money easy. For some, all it takes is a computer and an internet connection to get a successful small business off the ground.

If you've spent any time online lately, you probably already know that blogs (short for "web logs") and blogging are big. There are literally thousands and thousands of blogs online, and some of those bloggers are turning their daily posts into cash. These days bloggers aren't working hard, instead they're working smart and making money easy as they do. But how can a simple blog turn readers and clicks into cash? The answer is simple: affiliate marketing and Google Adsense.

The Google Adsense program allows you to put relevant advertising on your own blog or Web site. That means you can get a share of Google's pay-per-click (also known as "PPC") revenue by displaying the Google PPC ads. When a visitor to your site sees the Google ad and clicks on it, you get a share of the advertiser's bid for those keyword ads. Google Adsense can make making money easy on your blog or Web site. Simply sign up for a Google Adsense account, generate your ad units, and Google provides you the special code for your site or blog. Just copy the code and paste it into your own site or blog and within moments you'll have Google's contextual advertising PPC ads on your own web property. Now that's making money easy.

In addition, you can earn revenue on your blog or Web site through affiliate marketing. Here's how it works: you provide links from your site to the sales pages of other online businesses. As an affiliate, you get a unique code that you embed in the links on your site. If someone reading your site or blog clicks through to the merchant's site, you're making money easy because you get a portion of their purchase amount. One of the most popular affiliate marketing programs is available through Amazon, the world's largest online retailer. Amazon sells a huge variety of products, so it is very likely that you'll find many items to link to at Amazon. Simply sign up for their affiliate program, receive your unique affiliate ID, and place the links on your site or blog.

It may seem like making money can be difficult, but if you spend a little time online, you should be able to find a number of ways to make making money easy. From Web sites to blogs, you can turn your information into cash. Consider Google's Adsense contextual advertising program or affiliate marketing programs like those offered by Amazon and you could be adding to your income very quickly.

How to Sell Online Two Surefire Methods

If you want to know how to sell online and turn a few hours of work into a steady income, you've got to take a closer look at some of the many possible ways to generate revenue through online sales. Just as one single style of shoe isn't right for every foot, not every method for selling products or services online are a great fit for every person. Your chances of success in selling on the Internet increase if you choose a sales niche that is right for you. With that said, let's consider a couple of surefire methods to help you learn how to sell online:

Online Auctions
Of course you're probably already familiar with eBay, and there are other online auction sites as well. One of the biggest hurdles to effectively selling on the Web is getting traffic (visitors) to your Web site. If you choose to market your goods through an online auction site like eBay, you'll be able to get started without worrying about generating visits, because the auction Web sites have done the hard work for you. They'll be delivering the visitors, you only need to find the right product and the right price.

Before you learn how to sell online via the auction sites, you also need to determine how you intend to develop your inventory of goods, so consider this: in many cases, people who became adept at selling their products through the online auction sites started out simply hoping to empty out their cluttered garage and turn a few items they'd otherwise throw away into quick cash. Later they found that they could purchase products wholesale and resell them or perhaps they could frequent garage sales and lawn sales in their neighborhoods to find goods suitable for auction.

Your Own Web Store
If the online auction route doesn't seem like a good fit, you might want to consider setting up your own Web-based store as a possibility for how to sell online. Your own store might be a good option if you have many of the same item to market. In a case like this, you'll have much more control over how your goods are presented than if you'd chosen to go with an online auction site, but of course there will be significantly more work for you. In many cases you'll need to set up a shopping cart, a method of payment, and organize the site based on the products you want to sell. While that's more labor on your part, you will also be able to avoid the listing fees and other costs involved with using another company's site to market your products.

But don't forget, when you set up your own Web store you'll also be responsible for bringing in the visitors, and that can be a very labor-intensive or costly undertaking.

When you decide you want to know how to sell online, you'll find that online auctions and your own Web store are just two of many ways to generate revenue on the Internet. The key, no matter which option you choose, is to go ahead and get started. Learn how to sell online and start making extra money right now, then grow your online business into a full time income.

Unlike a brick-and-mortar business, a computer home based business isn't limited to only local customers. Instead, the entire world is your potential buyer, if they own a computer and are connected to the internet.

If you think you'd like to give online business a try, there are a number of potential computer home based business opportunities you may be interested in pursuing. For example, if you happen to be good at writing you might be very successful setting up a computer home based business doing copy writing online. Content is very important on the Web, and many, many Web site owners require unique, original content for their sites on a regular basis. Because these Web site owners don't have the time or talent to write significant content themselves, they turn to freelance writers to do it for them. As a skilled writer, you can easily turn their needs into additional income for yourself. All it takes is a little time developing some samples and a little effort promoting your writing services online.

Many others have created a successful computer home based business by selling products at online auction sites. It may be that you simply want to clear out your attic or basement, or you may want to purchase items at wholesale prices and sell them at retail prices online. Either way, creating a money-making computer home based business can be easy because online auction sites like eBay already do the hard work for you: they bring the customers to your offer. All you have to do is list your item for sale, decide on a price, and wait for the buyers to come to you. Once the sale is completed, you collect the payment online and send the buyer their purchase.

Technology is making our lives a lot easier, in a number of ways. On top of the convenience it provides, it can also help us supplement our incomes through computer home based business opportunities. How to Get Your Internet Marketing and Advertising Business Buzzing Online

As someone who makes it their business to do marketing and advertising for others it may be that the hardest company to promote is yourself. There is nothing wrong with a little shameless self promotion. We are going to look at some reasons that it shouldn't be so difficult and how you can have one that is successful. There may be some things in this article that sound obvious but many times it is the most obvious things that slip by us and confounds our efforts.

The first thing that you need to do is consider yourself a client. What are the things that you do when you are starting an advertising and marketing campaign for someone else.

First you need to have a target market. Who is going to be your target market? Well, everyone. The best thing to do, though, is to look for a niche. Your niche could be small businesses who need very little online presence but who do not have the time, money, knowledge, or resources to pull something like that together. Having that online presence can be incredibly helpful to a small business and you can make it happen. Sure they won't be bringing in the big bucks for you that some huge corporation will have but what you will find is that not only will they be loyal to you, they can get referrals for you and can e easily found. You could even go after a certain niche of small businesses. It could be anything associated with the medical field, or sports, or the outdoors, or any niche. The sky really is the limit. The more you get to know a niche, the better you will be at designing a marketing and advertising campaign around them.

An advertising and marketing campaign for yourself can also be tailored to go after a certain niche. It can also turn off a niche just as easily. Consider all of the tailoring to young, urban and “hip” people. It may have some funky music and slick graphics with swirly things and lots of dancing but will something like that be appealing to a group of doctors...who may, as a niche, have some very deep pockets? Probably not. What about your website that has the goth thing going on or shows some great designs that would be good as a tattoo? Sure it might reflect who you are but does it reflect and draw in  those people whose business you need and want. It isn't called selling out to cater to the likes of those whose business you desire. It's called selling.

Several years ago the band Metallica was talking about the criticism they have received for trying to reach a broader market. Their lead singer, James Hetfield, said “sure we sold out....every seat in the house.” The successful strategies used will take note of these things. The marketing and advertising you do for your own business will be successful online if you make yourself as appealing as possible to as wide a range of people as possible on the Internet.

Get Them Checking In - Internet Marketing Strategy for Independent Hotels

If you are one of the big hotel chains then an Internet marketing strategy isn't really a problem. More than likely you have name recognition going for you as well as a lot of cash and resources available to get the work done. Many of the best hotels that the public will find are just like yours, small independent hotel that makes people feel comfortable. Independent hotels will have a special feeling that no big chain can imitate. You have created or are creating a place that is near to the hearts of people who will keep coming back year after year. The only problem is, you still need to be competitive. There are many things that you can offer customers and letting them know what it is that you have to offer can be very helpful to your success.

The best thing that you have to work with is those customers that you have already. Make sure that you get their email and create a list using them. Create a newsletter letting them know about things that are going on not just with the hotel but in the surrounding area. Find out what is going on in the community and let your newsletter be an ad for your community. Another thing that you can do is try and give them incentives to get friends and acquaintances to go to the hotel. Give them a discount or gift certificate for telling new customers about you.

Another thing that you can do is create a website and work with other businesses in your area and create a network of local businesses that cross-promote each other. When there is a community event, get everyone to do their best to promote it on their site.

Many small businesses have found success in using search engines. You can be successful as well. Check into how that can be done for you. Look at pay-per-click advertising and see if it would be suitable for you. You might want to do paid search search engine listings but there are quite a few studies out that have shown that customers prefer the organic search engine listings so when you design  your website, find ways to get it optimized for search engines. Search engine optimization might be the best avenue for you to take but it can be pretty involved and difficult. There are plenty of resources available at a good price that will help you learn how to do it effectively. There are also small businesses who will do the work for you at a very good price considering the value it can be for you.

As a small, independent hotel it can seem that you are getting blown away by the larger hotel chains.  Once you learn how to use the Internet effectively, though, you will find that even as a small hotel you can have a marketing strategy that levels the playing field.

They may not want it associated with any unethical or illegal or even annoying activities.

When you find a designer whose products you like, let other people know about it. If you promote their business they may be likely to either make you an affiliate so that you get a commission on their paid services. They may even offer to do some custom work for you from time to time. If someone does you a favor, pay them back. It can only bring about good things.

One thing to realize is that not all who offer free website templates and designs are going to want to give you something for nothing. There may be a catch in their offer so make sure that you read all the fine print before you agree to something.

Also, if you are new to getting a website, make sure you have found someone who is willing to give you great customer service. Make sure that they have someone available to not only answer your questions but help you work out bugs that may show up. Look around and see what free website template designers are being used and look for recommendations.

Once you get started making use of the website templates for free and get a hosting account that allows you an unlimited number of websites, you may find yourself a money making machine.

Get Hundreds of Website Templates for Free

It seems like now just about everybody has a web site on the internet. If you haven't set up your own site as yet, you may think it could be beyond your experience or expertise to create your own web presence. Years ago you needed to be technically skilled and proficient in HTML code in order to design a web site, but today there are literally dozens of online sites where you can find website templates for free. All you need to do is download the template to your local PC, make some simple modifications to the design (or even use it exactly as it is), then upload it to the server where your web site is hosted.

Most of the places where you can find website templates for free provide those templates in exchange for a link back to their site. Usually these links are small, unobtrusive text links at the bottom of the page, and therefore there is no reason not to keep those links intact. Removing the link back to their site (also known as a "backlink") would likely violate the terms for using the template, so make sure you give the original site the proper credit for the design you're using. After all, if you get website templates for free, a simple backlink doesn't cost you a penny and it ensures that the designer will continue to offer more interesting and unique designs to the web community at no charge. Make sure you fully read and understand the terms of use before you publish your content using a free website template.

Most sites offering website templates for free organize their designs by various attributes... and that's a good thing because some sites have hundreds or even thousands available for download. Many offer a "most popular" category where you can find all of the most frequently downloaded templates. Others will allow you to sort the layouts by the number of columns on the page, some allow you to search for designs by type (such as "business" or "blog" or "news site"), others even allow you to find designs by color.

Many of the website templates for free you'll find on the internet use CSS (cascading style sheets) for their formatting. That means if you'd like to change the fonts, font sizes, colors, column widths and so forth, you'll have to edit the style sheet in order for the changes to appear on your site. One of the great things about style sheets is that you only need make the change in one place and the modifications you made will show up on all pages within your site. That makes editing easy! And don't worry, if you don't understand CSS you don't have to edit the style sheet at all -- just use the template exactly as it is.

If you're looking for website templates for free you'll find lots of them on the internet. These free designs can save you lots of time developing your own layouts, and they won't cost you a dime!

For Successful Marketing Understand Your Target Market

Before you can do any good advertising your product and service or undergo any decent marketing campaign you have to know your target market. In the world of internet marketing you need to be able to know as precisely as possible all the information you can gather so you can custom tailor your marketing mix to be more effective.

You will need to know about their demographics. On any online marketing campaign you need to know who it is that you are reaching out to. What does your ideal customer look like? How old are they? What income bracket are they in? Where do they work? Where do they socialize? What are their buying habits? The marketing strategies that you incorporate are going to use all this information. Fortunately it doesn't take much to find out much of this. If you are targeting a certain geographic area, use the internet to find out as much demographic information as possible. In the US use the chamber of commerce for that area.

For your market targeting you will also need to know about their geographic location. What is the culture there like. Get familiar with ti and find out what things are typical for that region. Make sure you find out not only what marketing strategies are popular but find out also what things are taboo. What may seem harmless to one region may be a death sentence to your marketing strategy if your marketing research doesn't find this information out.

You also need to see what other factors might affect the buying decision and behavior of your target market. What styles are in fashion for your target markets? What type of climate is it? Are they freewith their money? It may seem like a lot of work but if you want your marketing plan to work, all of this research is going to pay off.

The most important part of your marketing research will be understanding your customers needs. The more you understand this, the better able you will be to create an ad campaign. This will help bring about some effective branding of your product and services as a viable part of their buying pattern.

Your best way to find out about your target market, though, is to spend time where they are. If your hope is to have a coffee shop, you are going to want to see first hand what works and doesn't work You will want to know what the atmosphere is like in a successful coffee shop and spend time talking to customers to find out what they like and don't like about it. The same thing is going to be important for any online marketing plan.

Wherever it is that your potential customers go to find out more about what you are trying to offer them, go and spend time there. If there is a forum that is used by those who typically are interested in your product or service, be a member of it or spend time reading what is going on. Get in the shoes of your target market and find out what it is like to be them. The more you can understand them, the more effective you will be a marketing to your target market.

Finding Hidden Gold Inside the Adsense eBook

There are lots of great ways to make money online. The field of Internet marketing is wide and vast, with literally hundreds (if not thousands) of methods available to just about anyone who has an interest in getting an online business off the ground. Google, through the Adsense advertising program, is one great way to kick a little more money into your coffers. If you'd like to take a cut of Google's pay per click revenue, you'll probably be interested in setting up a Google Adsense account and finding a good Adsense ebook to help you get started.

If you spend any time at all on the Web, you already know that Google is without question the most popular search engine on the Internet. In fact, Google easily controls the Web search market, with no other engine coming anywhere close to Google's market share. Even if you combined all of the searches done each month on the other "big" search sites, their totals would still be dwarfed by Google's monthly search total. Since that's the case, you may be interested to investigate the ways that Google can make money for you. Using the Google Adsense program, your site can earn money for clicks generated by Google contextual ads on your pages.

So when it comes time to get a little guidance on the subject of how to best implement Adsense on your own Web properties, you'll probably be looking for a comprehensive Adsense ebook that outlines all of the tips and tricks to successfully turning your visitors into cash. In fact, you'll soon see that there is no shortage of Adsense ebooks available, but you've got to be careful about which you choose. Before you invest your hard earned money into an electronic Adsense guide, try to determine exactly how comprehensive the ebook may be on the subject. While one Adsense ebook might cover everything from A to Z, others may only gloss over the details and provide a simple high-level overview of how the Google Adsense program works.

If you can, look for reviews of the particular Adsense ebook you're interested in before you buy or download it. If the publisher offers an excerpt, read it first to see if the author communicates well and if you find their guidance easy to understand. If the particular guide you're interested in doesn't list the table of contents, don't be afraid to e-mail the publisher and ask if they can provide it. The same holds true for the page count. There's nothing worse that buying an Adsense ebook that you hope will be chock full of useful information only to find that you've spent money on a 3-page report that is long on hype and short on detail.

In the end, if you're interested in maximizing your Adsense revenues you're going to want to find some expert guidance online, and a good place to find that is in a top-quality Adsense ebook. Just do your research before you invest, and that will minimize the chance that you'll end up getting burned.

Exposing the Secret Pay Per Click Formula

If you want to have success using pay per click to market your online goods and services, you've got to devise an effective pay per click formula. Not every online marketer approaches pay per click in the same way, and each probably has developed their own unique method in order to make pay per click (or "PPC") work for them. Regardless of your approach, there are several important secrets to pay per click marketing that you should bear in mind when you decide to follow someone else's plan or to develop your own pay per click formula.

The biggest secret is that conversions (sales) are the most important aspect of your PPC marketing campaign. Everybody loves to get lots and lots of clicks on their PPC ads, but if those clicks aren't converting into sales, then you're simply wasting your time and money. That's why it is critical to test your PPC ads, and full tracking and testing need to be the very foundation of any successful pay per click formula.

So how do you test conversions? One of the simplest ways is to develop numerous PPC ads for each of your online promotions, rather than just one. A good mix might include three or four different ads, all for the same marketing effort. You could use those four different ads in bids on the same keywords, and then have each of those four ads point to a different page on your site. The content on each of the pages should be the same, even though the pages have a different URL. In this way, when developing your pay per click formula, you can decide which of these PPC ads generate the most sales.

For example, if you have four different ads running and each ad sends 500 clicks to your site, you can use your Web tracking logs to determine which of those four ads ended up converting into the most sales. Say that "Ad #1" sent 500 clicks and from those you made 3 sales, and that "Ad #2" sent 500 clicks and from those you made 2 sales, and "Ad #3" sent 500 clicks and those generated 7 sales, while "Ad #4" logged 500 clicks but only one sale. Your conversion rates for those ads would be 0.6 percent, 0.4 percent, 1.4 percent, and 0.2 percent respectively. Clearly we can see that "Ad #4" out-performed all of your other ads combined. Therefore, when you put together your own pay per click formula, you should include the advertising ingredient that delivers the most return on investment: in this case, it would be "Ad #4". Forget the others.

Of course there are other things to consider in developing a successful pay per click formula, such as keyword research and the actual cost-per-click compared to revenue generated by the PPC traffic. But before you start with a wide shotgun approach to launching a PPC campaign, take a step back a moment and develop a plan to test your conversion rates. You'll quickly find that this is one pay per click formula secret that can mean the difference between success and failure.

Choose Poor Keywords - Get Poor Adsense Conversion

If you choose poor keywords you are going to get poor Adsense conversion. It is as simple as that. If you are tired of getting a penny per click, then look into what keywords you are using. If you want to have higher Adsense conversion rates it is going to help for you to find those keywords that are going to bring you higher Adsense revenue per click. You can make money with Adsense but how much depends on how well you use it.

What makes Google Adsense and Adwords so beneficial you aren't just shooting an advert to millions who aren't going to be interested in what you are trying to advertise or aren't likely to buy. You are able to customize an ad just for them based on where they are going on the ad and what they are interested in. That is what brings the high Adsense conversion rates.

Google is able to know exactly what a person is interested in based on the content of the websites, the frequent use of the keywords and allows you to capitalize on that. Google looks out for certain keywords and phrases and chooses for them the images or ads that they will be interested in. Used in the right way this can be more effective and efficient than the biggest, flashiest commercials on television.

The most expensive clicks are not necessarily the best. You will find some keywords that have a very high pay out per click, over $40-50 per click, but what good do those do you if those are rarely clicked. It doesn't matter how good you are at optimizing them, they just won't help you make money online all that well. Find words that people click a lot. It doesn't matter if they are under $20 or maybe even less than $10 per click. If you have thousands of clicks on those keywords, that is going to make you thousands more a day than those high pay out clicks that no one is really interested in. Use Google Trends or the Google Adwords Keywords tool to find words or phrases that are popular.

You also need to find Adsense keywords that are specific to get the highest adsense conversion. There are millions of users trying to find things on the Internet and all of them are going to have different ways of trying to find information. They are going to have very specific needs and will phrase their search in unique ways based on a number of different factors.

It could be due to them being in different demographic groups, geographical areas, or cultures. Research different groups and find ways that they might be searching for things, look for tendencies they have and exploit it. If you are trying to cater to a certain geographical region then tailor your keyword to match it. If you want to reach people in New York looking for a bookstore with a coffee shop then instead of just using 'bookstore coffee shop' use 'New York bookstore coffee shop'.

Strive to find keywords that have a good balance between the quality of the keyword as far as having a decent payout per click and a high possibility of people actually clicking on it. If you are able to optimize this and then your Adsense conversion rates and the success of your Adwords campaign will go through the roof instead of dropping through the floor.

An Online Marketing Campaign Can Be Easy

An effective online marketing campaign can be almost as important to selling as the product or service itself. It doesn't matter how great it is that you have made, it goes nowhere without a good way to market it. Because the marketing is so important it is easy to be intimidated by it but it doesn't need to be that way. You can build one if you break it down into bite size pieces.

First thing you need to do is figure out who your customer is. What is the perfect customer you are looking for? How old is my customer? What is their sex? Where do they work? What type of work do they do? What is their household income? Is what I am offering realistically in their price range? Where do they usually go to look for what I am offering and what does it usually take to get their business. Not all of these questions apply to your particular product or service but the first thing for you do is find out what questions apply and then answer them.

The second thing that you need to do is to find out how you are going to get their attention. Where is it that you are going to go to try and get their business? Are you going to focus on just one avenue or are there several that you can use effectively to reach wider range of customers? Look at all the different avenues available to you whether putting ads on other web sites or pay-per-click. Find out what others are doing and see if it would work for you.

A third thing that you need to do is set a budget. It may not be cheap but it doesn't have to break you either. Find out how much money you can spend on each avenue you take, realizing that some cost more than others but are also worth the added money. What works for you is going to be different than what works for everyone else.  Pay close attention to what works and pay even closer attention to what doesn't work. Just make sure that what you put out can be sustained for as long a period of time as possible.

You then need to create your ad content. Don't be afraid to be creative and don't be afraid to ask for input or ideas. You have small opportunities to catch your customers attention. Make it count. Do something that will catch their attention and their curiosity, and give them a way to give them more.

The last thing that you need to do is monitor and track how your ads do. If you find that some avenues are working better than others, try to capitalize on that. Exploit the strengths in your online marketing campaign and look for the weaknesses as well. Quit spending money on what doesn't work. Of something is working a little, try tweaking it a bit. If something is working really well, put some more energy and money behind it. You can make it successful.

How To Increase Traffic Through Social Networking Sites

Nowadays, Social networking sites popularity is increasing day by day like facebook, myspace, orkut, digg etc…., we can say social networking is one of the best and free ways for increase traffic on our site. Social networking is important in blogging and if you can’t do social networking then it’s a rare chance that you’ll be successful in blogging. Leaving comments and trackbacks is part of social networking. Apart from that is part of one of the popular Social news networks.

(1). Increase traffic through Friends
Friends are the heart of the social networking attitude, and when promoting content this can be a valuable tool in viral marketing. The more friends you have in your network, the more visibility you will have when promoting.

(2). Increase traffic through Blogs
Blogs are one more great way to spread the word, most blogs allow you to post nameless comments. I use these blogs to post a comment then I include a link to one of my sites. I achieve a free back link for simply commenting on a story.

(3). Increase traffic through Picture Perfect
You may not understand it, but by passing on uploading your picture, you are also passing on an opportunity to get more people clicking on your articles. Why? Well, for one, it is known that spammers never take the time to upload a picture. Second, it is called ’social’ networking and ’social’ bookmarking sites. If you are trying to be ’social’ then you should put a face to your name.

(4). Increase traffic through Profile Pages
If you are a keen online social network's, you will have a pimped out profile page. Here are a few examples of how you can increase visibility to your content. On my profile pages at myspace.com, digg.com, linkedin.com, stumbledupon.com and yahoo.com I have links to all my social network profiles & personal projects. This does 2 things; increases my link back total to my projects and shifts visitors to my other profile pages so I get more friends! to promote your RSS feeds via your profile pages, the service displays recent RSS activity and the service is free. Another service you find interesting is myspacestats.net myspacestats.net, a service that tracks and stores your social networking traffic. The service simply puts an image on your profile and counts the total amount of visitors per day, month and year.

(5). Increase traffic through bulletin
Bulletins use your friends list, basically the more friends you have the more views your bulletins receive. Common sense! Some people use bulletins way to much and if I grasp these spammers they get deleted ASAP. So my advice is to use this angle a few times a month and keep them simple, this raw move toward keeps the bulletins friendly and not to over bearing.

(6). Increase traffic through Content
Nothing is more important than content. If you are a good writer and you write about interesting topics, you are going to do well on the social networking sites. People seem to like top 10 lists, top 20 lists, etc. I suggest that you look at digg.com to see what gets the most diggs. I have failed multiple times on getting a post digged or stumbled, even when I thought that it was the best article ever. You don’t always win.

(7) Increase traffic through clipart and screensavers
If you have some skills in this direction then try creating clipart and screensavers. Offering these for free is also a good way to get more traffic.

Finally, make sure that you are part of a few of the more popular social networking websites. These memberships will be only destined to build your own network and not of overt marketing. As your social network grows you can invite your contacts to join you on the social networking website. This should start a sequence reaction that will get them inviting their own contacts and so on. Finally your network will grow to a point where it becomes truly helpful.

How To Increase Traffic From Search Engines

How to increase website traffic?

This question is always asked by webmasters

Everyone may know that the most targeted traffic is from search engines. But does everyone know how to get top positions for FREE ?

SEO services are expensive and they often do not guarantee their promises. Offsite optimization, relevant links from other sites is the key to SEO success.

Reciprocal link exchanges have value in helping page popularity scores with the search engines. However, unless webmaster gets lucky and some of his link exchange partners turn into high powered sites, exchanging link advertisements will only take your site so far. One-way links to the site from authority websites is the name of the game to put site over the top.

Some people probably tried automatic link exchange networks. And they promised webmaster will have a lot of links. Yes, it is the true. But any “link network scheme” that leaves "footprints" put the site at risk of being banned. If link is placed on "links" pages or on page that has the name of script in its name it shows search engines will not rank that site high.

But if link is placed on the page relevant to the keyword webmaster wish to get good rankings in search engines on the position of the page will raise. There are two ways to get this effect. For example webmaster has a travel website and has page about travelling in Florida. He would like to be in top 10 by keyword "florida travel" What should he do ?

One way.

He starts searching for potential partners with relevant sites all over the internet, artificial non-effective link exchange networks, reciprocal links or he buys links. What does he get ? He gets no or little increase of his site's position or his position increased but he spent a lot of money.

Another way

Webmaster searches LinkWizard database and find pages about Florida. Then sends another webmaster request to exchange links on relevant content pages. Anothert webmaster agrees because he also interested in relevant links. What next? Link is on relevant page of partner's site. What does webmaster get? His position raise by keyword "florida travel" and he is happy.

Here are benefits webmaster will receive from LinkWizard automatic  link exchange service:

1. LinkWizard will save webmaster money by helping webmasters communicate directly about links on each other's site and content pages. By using database, webmaster can be assured that he is getting the best value for his site because he gets links from pages that are on the same topic as his site.

2. He will find large portals with many pages in our database. Each page has specific topic. Webmaster can select page that exactly matches his site topic. Links from such pages are the only links that search engines LOVE.

3. Webmaster can choose link text for each specific content page. He may choose keyword that he would like to be listed in search engine as link text on and place it on the content page which is optimized by this keyword. Raising of he position by this keyword is guaranteed.

4. This service is FREE. Webmaster do not need to buy links from webmasters, text link auctions, text link brokers.

5. Everything is done automatically. He do not need to e-mail webmasters, ask them on which pages you would like to place your link on and wait for their answer for weeks.

6. There is no one "footprint" to search engines. Other link exchange networks leave a lot of "footprints" .For example sites can use the same visible script, links can be placed on "links" page. If search engines find "footprint" of link exchange network they will not rank high your website. With LinkWizard webmaster have none of this. All links are placed only in mid-paragraph of relevant content pages. This way of linking without any visible "footprints" has fantastic effect for search engines!

How To Increase Targeted Web Site Traffic To Your Site?

I have noticed in Many marketing forums How newbies give up in search of building traffic in less than 6 months. Building Long term targeted traffic takes time and dedication towards your website. You need to work towards getting Web site traffic and optimize accordingly.

Before You read anything about SEO or traffic building, You need to remember it takes time to get free and targeted traffic to your website. You might have heard some X guy getting 1000's of visitors in its first month. But Do not hasten the process of organic traffic.

In this article We'll discuss long term SEO building tips that'll help you build a profitable website.

Any website that wants to make money needs to get optimized, and stay that way. Running and SEO campaign once or twice isn’t enough in this market: you need to consider long-term maintenance
of your SEO.

For Long term planning You do not need to chase search engine algorithms on daily basis. As Search engines improves their algorithms quite often. It'd be waste of time and effort to chase
them. Better You can do is understand basic SEO techniques and keep building a powerful resource in your niche.

Some tips for long term SEO.
1. Check on your pages regularly and make sure they’re still listed. Your listings are the most important part of your SEO work. Whether the page is listed or not is vastly more important
than what key words you have etc. After all, if you aren’t listed at all what good is it to optimize?

2. Watch for bad links or broken links in your site. Fix it as soon as possible. Any missing pages should be checked out thoroughly. Chances are that the system has run into a problem, but if you don’t check it out you may very easily be wrong. I had one of my blogs PR dropped in matter of 24 hrs when I wasn't checking it. Somehow I recognize my mistake and worked towards
building it again. Now My blog got back its PR and traffic.

3. Resubmit your sitemap if you make major changes, but not for anything smaller. It's better to have a blog giving latest details on minor changes.

4. Create monthly ranking reports on your site, to see if any changes need to be made.

5. Keep submitting your site to the big directories, as spiders use these as a starting point. This point is not stressed more often. If you need traffic from MSN and Yahoo, You need to do
this. Some directories will provide you low cost listing for a year (sometimes lifetime). Normally they have High PR pages. So it'll help you a lot.

Besides from Basic SEO techniques You need not to worry a lot about regular fluctuations in your rankings. Though you need to keep an eye on your rankings and try to notice which factors
are giving your results.

6. While we are on building links, You need to work on getting lots of link backs regularly. Be it Link exchange or one way links through submitting articles. Do it regularly.

7. Watch your competitors and the methods they use. You'll learn a lot by watching and understanding what your competitors does.

8. Keep updated yourself on your niche. Issue press releases Often if possible. Press releases are not like articles. Make them "news". This will bring targeted traffic to your site. For

If you are interested then read this page on writing articles that bring traffic http://www.website-marketing-strategy.my-infoworld.com/articles.html. With these tips alone You should be able to bring lots of free organic traffic to your site.

10. You need to know how to analyze your own website. Though You'll find lots of articles on Website Optimization but before you go Let me give you a link to one of the software which I use For obtaining High Rankings for my sites. With this Software You'll be able to spy on your competitors site and If need you can copy his exact methods which helped him gain into top rankings.

This might seem like a lot of work for a small website or company, but you need to do it to help your website grow. If you don’t have growth, you have nothing. No business wants to stay
where it is forever, and SEO is a good way to get more business and stay in the race.

How To Get Traffic To Your Website

There are several ways to get traffic to your site. You can pay for your traffic or get it for free. I'd like to concentrate on free traffic.

The first thing you need to do is make sure your site is key-word optimized for the search engines. For a new site, using low competition words can help you to get placed high on some search engines and give you much needed targeted traffic. If you have a site with several categories, doing at least one optimization a day will slowly but surely build your business. With more than one category this gives you an opportunity to be placed on the search engine with each category and not just your front page.

Another way to help build targeted traffic and links to your site is a blog. You can have the blog linked to your site. If you update your site regularly  and 'ping' your blog with one of the free pinging services, you will gradually build your traffic and business.

There are many sites that have free content that you can use on your blog. Once you've set up the blog and find the right ping service, this would only take you a few moments a day. When using free articles, be sure and use proper etiquette, giving the author credit for his writing.

The tried and true way to build 'free' traffic and links, is articles. You can write about anything you want or about the services or products your website distributes. If you're not able to write the articles yourself, there are a number of services available that can do it for you (you pay). Then post your article to as many directories as possible. Webmasters are constantly on the look out for good, new content.

The number of links to your site is critical in your placement with most search engines. Articles and a blog help build your site targeted traffic slowly. But to speed up your linking process, you could search and join some link exchange sites. The more links the better.

How To Get Targeted Traffic To Your Website!

Everyone who has a website knows that to have sales you must have traffic, but not just any traffic it has to be targeted traffic.

What is Targeted traffic? It is simply visitors to your website that are interested in what your website is about. For example, people interested in buying jewellery will find jewellery websites interesting.

How do I get targeted traffic I hear you ask? The following are tried and tested methods:

Forums: Subscribe to forums that discuss your topic. Answer questions and join in the debates there. Become an expert in the field. Then with each article reply you write have a discreet link to your website in the signature file. What can be placed in your signature is often determined by the forum moderators. Do not spam the forum or you will be stopped from posting. This is one of the most productive ways of getting free traffic as those who click your link have already read and liked your style.

Linking from/to other websites: Contact website owners that have similar but not competitive websites to yours, ask them for a reciprocal link from their website to yours. Be sure to select your link partner to match closely your customer profile. Software programs such as Arelis are very helpful in this process.

E-Zines: Contact e-zine owners that have your target readership and buy advertisements from them. Be sure to have a test run to see that the return on investment is sufficient to cover the costs involved. If you are buying an extended run of advertisements haggle with the e-zine owner over price. You may save a considerable amount.

Newsletters: When people visit your website offer them something of value for free if they sign up to your newsletter (like an e-Book). Your newsletter should be written tightly geared towards your topic. It should be published regularly at weekly intervals.

E-Books: Often used, these are usually free informational books for your clients and for others to give away free if they leave your links in the book itself. You can place links back to your website in the books you sell or give to your clients.

Joint Ventures: Contact online marketers looking for new products to sell. They often have large mailing lists with eager to buy customers. Normally they are willing to email their list for a cut of the sale price. This works particularly well with informational products. It has several advantages. It can give a very sizeable boost to both your sales and mailing list within a very short period.

Buy Traffic: This is probably the cheapest in terms of time and most expensive money wise. It gives a traffic boost normally within 30 days. What are you buying? You are buying traffic from expired domain names which the company selling the traffic has bought. They are domain names still registered on the search engines which get a considerable amount of traffic. The previous domain name owners have either lost interest in the name or simply forgot to renew the registration. This means that the traffic from the expired domain name is simply redirected to your website. This is usually high quality traffic as only websites with traffic such as you want is redirected to you. As always, a test run to see if this traffic is suitable should be undertaken.

When you combine these techniques and apply them consistently over time you will find a rich source of targeted traffic coming to your website. This, combined with quality products will ensure the success of your online business.

How to get free traffic using link exchanges

Do link exchanges work? You bet they do. You will find countless posts in webmaster online forums explaining how exchanging links increases your link popularity, your Page Rank with Google, and your search engine rankings in general. However, I say forget all that. The best reason to do link exchanges is to get the actual traffic that each link will generate.

Suppose you get 1000 people to link to you who each generate just ten visitors per month. That is an additional 10,000 free visitors to your site per month. You do not even need to be listed in the search engines! You have automatic traffic coming in from other sites even if you are nowhere to be found on the search engines. Try multiplying the above numbers by ten and the figures get really interesting!

The key is not to just exchange links with any site. You should look to exchange links which offer similar content to yours. This is just common sense. If you are going to get an additional 10,000 visitors to your site each month they should be targeted visitors. They should be visitors who are already interested in your area.

What about SEO, search engine optimization? Forget about it! The search engines are changing their rules constantly. It is almost impossible to "trick" them. Even if you succeed for awhile eventually they catch on and your site could get banned. So I say just concentrate on getting releavant links to your site. What the search engines are looking for anyway is relevant content and relevant links. So don't try to trick them. Just give them the real deal! This is how by not concentrating on SEO you will have what all SEO experts are shooting for. Plus, even if you are not listed right away in the search engines you will be getting real free targeted traffic from relevant sites. The SEO will take care of itself.

How To Get Floods Of Traffic By Using Link Directories

So you've finished your website masterpiece and want nothing more than spreading out the word and receiving tons of traffic as soon as possible? Now you might think of a way of a good way to drive traffic to your website in no time. What could it be? Article submissions? Press releases? Link exchanges? Sure! But each an every method requires a huge amount of work and most of all... time! Imagine those countless hours of writing articles or trying to formulate an effective press release. Requesting link exchanges will even be more time consuming. Some website owners might just laugh at you because you have no pagerank or significant traffic while others take ages until they put up that single link to your website.

I have been there and done it all! I don't even want to count the hours that I've spent for registering with the different article websites or emailing webmasters. I've always tried to figure out a way to get indexed in the search engines as soon as possible and to get a good pagerank in no time. Then, one day, I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel: Directory submissions. Now please don't immediately think of those free for all (FFA) links pages that will place your link on the frontpage for like 5 minutes or so. I mean well established link directories, websites that are really effective for getting your site indexed fast.

The good thing with link directories is that you practically have to do nothing but submit your website link, a title, short description and some keywords. Of course you also have to select a category under which your website should be filed, but even that is no problem at all as most link directories have a comprehensive list of categories available. When you have submitted your website it will most of the time be reviewed by a human editor. This might sound like a bottleneck at first, but when you think about all those crappy websites that don't get listed because of the spam techniques they use, (remember those FFA link pages) it is absolutely an advantage!

Getting your site listed at link directories can be extremely easy if you follow some simple rules.

When build your website make sure that it doesn't look like it was put together in 30 minutes or like it was made by a 5 year old. It's really the quality that counts and that gets you eventually listed. If you now think: "Oh no, I have no chance to even get a single listing!", then let me tell you that you shouldn't worry so much. An easy way to find out what requirements your site has to fulfil to get listed is to browse through some of the directory listings and have a look at the websites that are already included. You might laugh out loud when you see some of them - not because they look crappy (OK, some even might), but because they are kept pretty simple and clean. I guarantee you that if you are serious about website building and use a good software and/or design you should not have to worry at all. Of course it is always a must to read the directory guidelines to see whether your site qualifies for a listing or not (e. g. there's no suitable category available).

Some link directories might require to put a link back to them on your site, a so called reciprocal link. It could either be a simple link, some more advanced HTML stuff (don't worry, you can copy & paste the code almost all of the time) or graphics. The benefit the link directories get from that is that when your website finally gets some good traffic and has high search engine listings some of your visitors might find their way to the link directory itself. Also it will give the link directories some pagerank when your site has lots of backlinks (and you WILL get them by submitting to link directories). Make sure to put up those reciprocal links before you submit to the directories as some of them might instantly check for it and possibly reject your site.

If you follow these guidelines and make sure that you have some good!!! and search engine optimized content on your website (not just dozens of pages of keywords and spam), then you will have no problems at all in getting listed with the link directories, getting picked up by the search engines and profiting from the floods of traffic. I personally do directory submissions almost daily and most of the time manage to get picked up by the link directories at the first try (sometimes I do some stupid mistakes by submitting a website and having misspelled the title or URL because of too much caffeine in my blood). As far as the traffic results are concerned I am more than satisfied. Lots and lots of my websites have TOP 10 listings in all of the search engines and have brought me significant traffic and product sales.

The best thing of all is that you don't even have to manually search for those link directories by yourself. I use a software called Link Directory Submitter that does most of the work for me. I should be ashamed for my laziness, but I'd rather prefer to spend more hours lying in the sun and drinking Margaritas than submitting links for hours. To be honest, with automated software like Link Directory Submitter I could submit an army of websites in no time but hey, I'd also have to build them. Now that's a vicious circle!

Viral Marketing in Forums for Affiliate Marketing

Forums all over the net serve as good venues to spread word about affiliate marketing campaigns. Start a thread or post a message and the word will spread like wild fire.

Most forums though have strict rules with regard to pushing for viral marketing for affiliate programs in their threads. As a business owner you don’t want to be banned from these forums, so you must take caution and follow the rules set by the moderators.

Keeping Safe when Posting on Forums

The forum serves as your meeting grounds for potential customers, business partners, or service providers. It is a great place to learn things and share your expertise or tools of the trade.

Moderators can be your best friend or your worst nightmare if you are planning to run a viral campaign with regard to some affiliate programs on their threads.

You don’t want to be banned or black listed in these forums since they form part of your business circle.  You need to play safe and follow the rules set by forum owners or thread moderators.

As an affiliate marketer, you should post only where it is allowed. There are discussions specific for trading services or goods and threads where you can push for your affiliate marketing campaigns.

Posting Affiliate Links

When entering forums, you must know how to play by their rules. There are usually sticky notes which states black and white what you can do or not. If the forum only allows a single link to appear on your post then by all means follow that rule. It will be best to embed the link into words which is relevant to the thread.

You can also type the link at the bottom of your messages if you are not allowed to embed it on the body of your posting. Don’t forget to include tag lines of your campaign when you post the links.

Follow the Forum Basics

Stay away from conflicts or debates which may arise when you are running viral campaigns in forums as much as possible. This is often the case when there are no moderators guiding the forum.

Arguments often end up with no one looking good before the other members of the forum or visitors. When running a viral campaign the best thing to do is stick with it and achieve your goals.

Video Marketing - An Essential Part of SEO

Almost all website owners will be in constant search of opportunities to build links to their websites. If they come across any such opportunity they are sure to grab it with both hands. Let me point out one such brilliant opportunity.

The Emergence of Video Marketing:
A new phenomenon in Internet marketing has been the recent emergence of video marketing. Video sites are cropping up by the dozens in order to take advantage of this latest craze.

According to New York Times, 75% of online users watch videos. And according to eMarketer, more than 50% of online traffic is related to videos. So it will be absolutely unimaginable for the wise marketer to neglect this new opportunity.

If you want to gain backlinks to your website, and get tons of free visitors then you need to pay attention to video marketing. Add video marketing and video submissions to your SEO efforts!

Earlier it was sufficient from SEO perspective to do article submissions and website directory submissions. But now that is not enough. You also need to target web 2.0 traffic - and for that you have to add social bookmarking and video submissions to your armory.

There is a lot of similarity in video marketing and link building. You need to adopt the same approach and mindset for both. In link building, you are on the constant lookout for places from where you can get a few links to your website. Similarly you should be on the lookout for some great places to submit your videos for maximum exposure.

Video Marketing Simplified:
Let me outline a few important steps to do video marketing and reap huge SEO benefits.

1. Make a short quality video about your product, service or some topic related to your niche. The video need not be perfect or absolutely professional. But make sure it is unique, interesting and useful in some way to the viewer.

2. Upload your video to popular video sharing sites like youtube, Google video, Yahoo video etc.

3. Include your important keywords in the tags and video description while submitting your video.

4. Don't forget to include a link to your website in the video description.

5. Social bookmark the video link you just submitted to youtube or any other video site. This can help in more links to you.

6. Find out more such video sites that receive high traffic in order to submit your video to them.

7. Create more videos and repeat the above steps. You should get better with practice. In order to save time you can use video distribution services like heyspread or tubemogul.

Advantages of Video Marketing:
The above steps will help you in many ways. Firstly you can gain instant exposure and receive free traffic from these high traffic sites. Secondly you are getting backlinks to your site as you included a link in the video description.

These backlinks are very important from SEO viewpoint. That is because most of the video sites have high pagerank and Google values links from such sites.

Another advantage is that you are reaching out to those people who are not interested in reading long articles but would prefer to watch a video. You are making use of different media and not depending solely on articles.

As you know that in order to remain on top of search engine rankings, you need to utilize all tools and resources at your disposal. It would be a big mistake if you don't do so as your competition will then get ahead of you very easily.

So start utilizing video marketing for building backlinks and getting free traffic.

Tip: If you would like your video to appear at the end of a competitors video, all you have to do is use the same title tags and keywords that they have used. Just ensure that you place them in the exact same order as they appear on your competitors video and your video will be the next one shown after a viewer finishes watching their video!

The Importance Of Keywords

Every website and blog is governed by the keywords it contains.  Organic search engine placement is determined by the use of niche keywords.  Search engines use spiders and robots to crawl through websites on a regular basis.  They identify websites and categorize them according to the content that the site contains.  If you want to be found in search engines by certain search terms, you must make sure that your website or blog contains those words in your content.

It may seem simple at first; just add a few of your selected keywords to your website and you’ll get the search engine placement you want.  It’s not that simple.  Too many search words or keywords are considered Spam and can get your site removed from the top search engines.  You must use your keywords appropriately and within context for the purpose of your site.  Using keywords correctly will increase traffic to your site and ultimately increase sales.

If you use Pay Per Click advertising you’ll need to learn the best keywords for your site, as you will be buying these words.  There are several excellent tools available online that will help you monitor and track the most important keywords for your site.  Researching the best keywords is one of the most important steps that you can take.  It will ensure that you are creating content needed for organic search placement, as well as help you determine the best keywords for your Pay Per Click campaign.  Google AdWords and WordTracker are two excellent programs that you can use to determine the best keywords for your site.

Some important points to remember is that you should always use the plural form when choosing keywords.  For example if you choose E-book and not E-books, your site won’t show up if someone searches for E-books.  If you use E-books, your site will show up if someone searches for the term “E-book” because the word E-book is within the plural form E-books.  Also, use keyword phrases and not just keywords, and include them in your site’s Meta Tags as well.  Keywords are essential to your affiliate marketing campaign choose them wisely.

Promoting your Website

You might have heard the saying, “If you build it; they will come.”  When it comes to building websites, however, that statement couldn’t be further from the truth.  It’s not enough to build a website and then wait for the traffic to arrive, it won’t happen.  You must take proactive steps to promote your website, if you ever plan on making sales.  There are several ways that you should focus on promoting your website.  These are to be listed in the top search engines, to create a newsletter with an opt in list, to advertise your website on forums and in chat rooms, and to offer free promotions on your site.

There are numerous search engines, but only several are the most important to become listed in.  In addition to being listed in the search engine, directories are also important.  By being listed in directories you’ll see an increase in your website’s traffic.  The best way to ensure that you have good placement in search engines is by having an easy to navigate website.  Your site should have a good design, plenty of fresh, keyword rich content, and enable your visitors to easily sign up for your newsletter.

Your newsletter or mailing list is a great promotional tool.  By including freebies and providing text at the bottom of the newsletter that encourages readers to forward your newsletter to others.  Include areas that will encourage people to return to your website as well.  You can include a special coupon or code in your newsletter that will encourage visitors to return to your site, enter the code, and download a free product.  Always have free offers available on your website as this will cause repeat visitors.  In addition to these methods, you’ll find that by creating a signature tag with a link back to your site, and by engaging in conversations on forums and chat rooms, you can easily promote your site and increase affiliate sales.

Press Releases

With sites like http://www.PRWeb.com you are able to send out an announcement that contains information about your website. Internet Marketers from all niche markets have witnessed incredible success both in search engine ranking and in the traffic and attention generated by releasing a press or news announcement.

Here is a simple yet effective format for press releases:

1) For Immediate Release (or "For Release On "Date Here").

2)  Compelling Headline
You need your press release to catch the attention of your prospects quickly. Now isn't the time to try to be witty which can end up confusing. Make sure your title is strong and direct. If you want to get a few ideas from successful titles, browse through existing press releases and jot down notes that will help you create your own.

3) First Paragraph Hook
Your first paragraph is exceptionally important and needs to hook your reader in or you'll lose their attention quickly. Include the "Who, What, Where, Why and Why's" within your first paragraph for best results. Cut down any excess text that you don't need and keep things focused and on track. Be sure that you highlight the most important aspects of your press release within the first paragraph.

4) Body
Continue weaving your body around your first paragraph, keeping it exciting, entertaining and interesting.  Keep the momentum going!

5) Contact Information
Be sure to include a mailing address, telephone number, fax number, email address and of course, your website URL.

6) Finish your press release with three ### symbols which indicates in the professional world of publishing that it is the end of your press release.

Make sure to proofread your press release before publishing and have a friend go over it to ensure that it reads smoothly and is comprehensive, even to someone who may not be familiar with your niche market or website.

Pay Per Click Advertising

Driving traffic to your website is critical for ensuring that your marketing campaign is a success.  Pay Per Click advertising is one of the most popular ways people drive traffic to their sites.  Abbreviated as PPC, Pay Per Click advertising is considered as targeted marketing.  Unlike banner ads or other types of marketing, PPC advertising ensures that you only pay for advertisement that works.  With a PPC campaign you pay every time someone clicks your link, ensuring that your advertising dollars are not misspent or wasted.

The great advantage to using Pay Per Click advertising is that you will always show up in the top search results, and you don’t need to worry about paying for wasted advertising space.  With other forms of advertising, the method was based upon impressions.  For example, you would pay every time your ad was displayed.  This had many drawbacks, if your ad was displayed on the bottom part of a website, you ran the risk of paying for impressions that weren’t visible.  When compared to banner advertising, there is no doubt that PPC advertising is more effective.

When you view a search result on Google, you’ll see two types of links.  The top and side links are sponsored or PPC ads.  Underneath those, you’ll find organic search results.  These are the results that were returned based upon the content of the websites.  It is best to use both organic and PPC advertising.  By having keyword rich content as well as PPC you can ensure that your site will receive plenty of visitors.  If you are new to PPC advertising, you can set your budget at a small limit and begin your campaign.  This will give you the liberty of trying a campaign without feeling that you have invested too much.  PPC is a great way to drive traffic to your site and is an important component in your affiliate marketing program.

Niche Affiliate Marketing

Niche Affiliate Marketing is the field of targeting your marketing efforts to a specific group or segment of the marketing arena.  Instead of creating a broad spectrum website, niche marketing focuses on targeting one specific area within a category.  It is often the most successful form of Affiliate Marketing due to the fact that the customer will readily accept the programs that are promoted.  There are several benefits to using Niche Affiliate Marketing, and one of the best advantages is gaining better search engine placement by creating Niche websites.

When studying search trends you might find that a generic category or topic receives millions of search hits each day.  For example, the search term Ebooks receives over 60 million hits, and though this shows that many people are looking for Ebooks, it also means that competition is fierce for the top ten search results.  However, if you focus on one particular genre of Ebooks, or another niche within the Ebook category, you can target visitors who are searching for that niche while eliminating much of your competition for the top ten search results.  You can find a niche in every field, and once you target that niche, you’ll find that it’s much simpler to become successful.

Content is always the key to every website or blog’s marketing strategy, and with niche affiliate marketing, you’ll need fresh content that focuses on your niche.  It’s important to create content that focuses on the niche keywords related to your topic. Research and choose the best keywords and make certain that the content on your website is keyword optimized.   Articles will comprise the bulk of your website, and then you can choose affiliate programs that complement your niche.  Since the customer has arrived at your site with the intentions of discovering more about the niche, he or she will readily click on your affiliate programs.  Niche marketing is a proven method that helps increase affiliate commissions.

How to Select Proper Anchor Texts for Better Rankings

Anyone serious about improving search engine rankings should focus on anchor texts they are using while building links to the website. Anchor text is the keyword phrase you use when linking from some other site to yours. It is the hyperlinked text that is visible to human readers.

Just do a Google search for the phrase "click here". The first result that comes up is the adobe site. This is mainly because a lot of sites have linked to the adobe site with the phrase "click here". This shows the importance of using proper anchor texts while building links.

If some other site is linking to you then you may not have complete control over what text they use with the link. But in cases where you do have control then you have to choose a proper anchor text. When submitting articles to article directories, while doing social bookmarking or doing video submissions etc. you can choose your own anchor text.

Guidelines for Selecting Proper Anchor Texts:
The first thing to remember is that you should not use the same anchor text for each link to your website. You should vary it a little bit. Otherwise it will be a red flag in the eyes of Google and it might even penalize your website by dropping your rank.

So use a lot of variations and different keywords in your anchor text. Another important thing to remember is to choose your anchor texts very carefully.

You have to choose those keyword phrases that are neither too competitive nor too easy to rank for. If you use too much competitive keywords in your anchor text then building a few links may not help you in achieving top rankings for those keywords. You will probably need hundreds and hundreds of links in such cases.

On the other hand, if the keyword phrase has very less competition then you probably don't need anchor text links in order to rank for that phrase. Just using that keyword phrase a couple of times in your website article might be sufficient in achieving a good rank for it.

So choose such keyword phrases that are a little difficult to rank for but which you can achieve with a little bit of work. Make a list of such keyword phrases that are relevant to your website, and then try to get as many links as possible with those keywords in anchor text.

Make sure to alternate between different keywords so that you can avoid using the same anchor text too often. Do not neglect the importance of anchor texts otherwise your link building efforts might not yield the results that are possible by using this strategy.

You can write and distribute articles, do website directory submissions, social bookmarking with the proper tags, video submissions, RSS feed submissions, create forum signatures etc. These methods will help you build backlinks with anchor text of your choice.

Every little bit can help in gaining high search engine rankings. Remember that top rankings are not something that you can achieve overnight. You will have to work hard for it and paying attention even to small things like proper anchor texts can go a long way in helping your cause!

3 Things to Pay Attention For Better Search Ranking

SEO refers to search engine optimization. It is a process to increase the organic search rankings of a website. There are millions of searches being done online. People search for almost every imaginable thing from how to care for their pets to how to make money from home etc.

While searching, people enter some words or phrases in the search box. These are known as keywords or key phrases. A website owner's aim is to have high rankings for a lot of important keywords related to the site's niche.

The advantage of high rankings is that you can get thousands of free visitors to your website without spending a dime on advertising. And this traffic will keep coming to your website automatically as long as your site is still ranking high on the search engines.

What' more - your site will be getting visitors even while you are sleeping, eating or enjoying time with your family. In order to enjoy all these benefits, we need to optimize our website in a certain way so that it stands a good chance of ranking highly in the search engines. Each search engine is different and gives priority to different factors.

It may be almost impossible to optimize our website keeping all the search engines in mind. Thankfully we don't have to do so. If we focus on just the top 3-5 search engines, it should be sufficient for us to get thousands of free targeted visitors.

Start Your SEO Efforts from Here:
Let us discuss 3 important areas you have to focus on first in order to optimize your website for higher rankings.

1. Pay Attention to Title: Each webpage has a title. What you place between the title tags is very important from SEO point of view. You should place your most important keywords which you are targeting in the title. The keywords should be placed in the title is such a manner that it should make sense to humans also.

Our webpage titles should appeal to search engines as well as human visitors. If your title is just a bunch of keywords without much sense or appeal, then people will may not click to visit your site even if you have a high ranking in the search engine.

2. Pay Attention to Header Tags: Header tags are like subtitles of your page. Again header tags are important from human as well as SEO point of view.

Header tags should also contain your important keywords so that the search engines understand what your page is about. These header tags are also important for human visitors to your website. If someone is just scanning your article, he/she can read through the subtitles to decide whether the article is of their interest and deserves to be read further or not.

3. Pay Attention to Content: Your articles should be of good quality and useful to the reader. They should serve some purpose.

The article should contain your important keywords written in a natural manner so that it makes complete sense to human readers also. If you write high quality content and spread your important keywords throughout the content then stand a good chance of impressing the search engines as well as human visitors.

These are the 3 most important parts of your webpage you should pay attention to if you want to gain high search rankings. The benefits of top rankings are immense. So start paying more attention to your article titles, subtitles as well as the actual content.

If you do so then you can reap the benefits in terms of good search rankings as well as high conversions from website visitors. There are many other factors that need your attention in order to improve site rankings, but all efforts should start from here. You should first and foremost try and optimize your content then worry about other factors.

The Basics Of Internet Market Research

If you are going to have a successful internet business, then it is important that you know the basics of internet market research. Internet marketing is any way that you seek to improve the awareness of your business in the online marketplace. It is common for a person to dive haphazardly into internet marketing programs without knowing their target audience, or even enough about their business.

This is what makes internet market research so important. By conducting this research you are better prepared to know who your target audience is as well as the best methods of reaching them.

Many companies find that the markets in which they serve are filled with customers, competitors, and continually changing marketing conditions. Meeting the demands of these constantly changing market conditions is one of the most difficult aspects of marketing. It is because of this that market research is so important.

The same marketing techniques that work today are not guaranteed to work in the future. This marketing research can provide information on what the target market is going to look like in the future, and how to prepare for it.

Research is the process of gathering information in order to learn about something. Yes, that is a simple definition of something that is actually quite complicated. For the marketer, research is not simply for the purpose of learning, but is an extremely important ingredient in the decision making process.

Internet market research will give you a full picture of both what is occurring and what is about to occur in the marketplace. When it is performed well it can let you know what the best choices are to be made. Marketing decisions are less risky when you have looked at all available options.

There are countless decisions to be made in business that are effected by marketing; these include: target markets, products, distribution, promotion, pricing, external factors, and others. Each of these marketing segments will require research. It is important that you perform the correct research for each of these segments or you will be wasting your time.

Because marketing involves people, it is one of the social sciences. Social science is the study of people and how they react to different situations. In marketing, you study people and how they react to different marketing campaigns. Many marketing research techniques, such as surveys for example, are in actuality scientific experiments.

Not all marketing research will require studies to be performed, but if these studies are not performed correctly then they are producing inaccurate results. Of course, any research, no matter how well performed, has the ability to be wrong. It is because of this that you must undertake many different methods of research in order to produce the most accurate results. Research reliability depends on making sure that the data gathering leads to accurate results. If you always make sure to conduct the proper Internet market research, you will find that your business will be much more profitable than if you had not.

The Many Forms Of Internet Advertising

If you have a small business that you are actively trying to promote, then there is no doubt that you will be able to capitalize on the many different forms of internet advertising available. These methods include: search engine optimization, pay per click advertising, online newsletters, and website advertising.

Search engine optimization is the process of making your site more easily found by search engines. These search engines send out spiders which scan your page for any key words; they use this information in order to better rank your webpage on their result lists. SEO can be difficult to achieve correctly.

You must maintain a good balance of keywords in the content of your site. Too many of the same word can get you banned; so don’t think you can fill up a page with the same key word in order to get a high ranking. Put key words in the title tag of your webpage, in the headings, and in the major paragraphs.

One of the more popular and successful forms of internet advertising are monthly email newsletters. All you need to do is offer to send the visitors to your website a free newsletter each month when they give you their email addresses. This is a great way to market your business because you are reaching the same person repeatedly.

Every time you send out a newsletter you are giving the recipient another chance to take advantage of your services. The best part is that you can eventually get hundreds or thousands of people to sign up for you newsletter. Just make sure that you are sending them a quality email each month that is written professionally. If you are not a writer, then you can hire someone to perform this task for you.

Pay per click ads are offered by search engines such as Google and are a great way to promote your business. The way they work is simple. They will put your ad on the search results that are relevant to your site based on the keywords that you supply them with. Whenever a person clicks on one of your ads, you will have to pay a small fee, usually a few cents to a dollar or so.

The cost depends on the keywords that you use and how high up they show your add. You don’t have to worry about being charged too much either; you set your monthly budget and once that runs out your ads will stop being shown for the remainder of the month.

The final method of online advertising that will be discussed is website advertising. Most websites that operate solely by content offer ad space on their sites. There are some sites that offer very inexpensive ad space, while others can only be afforded by large corporations. When advertising on websites, do your best to pick a site that is relevant to the business that you are advertising on it.

If you try out these forms of internet advertising you will be amazed at how well your website performs.

The Real Deal Search Engine Optimization Rules

Search engine optimization is an important element of modern marketing, but just what are the search engine optimization rules? It’s not quite as easy as just saying “here’s what to do and what not to do” – every website will benefit differently from different SEO methods. Perhaps the only real search engine optimization rule is: you’ve got to do it!

Seriously, though, there are some elements of SEO that are absolutely required for the process. One of these key search engine optimization rules is understanding keywords. Keywords are the words and phrases that users on the Internet use to search for the things they want. Optimizing your website for popular keywords is a surefire way of generating more traffic, which could lead to more ads served or more sales for products you’re selling.

Another rule of search engine optimization is to build up links that lead to your web site. By linking your own web pages together, or finding ways to have other web sites link to yours, you can greatly increase traffic to your site. This is because Google and other search engines use links to your site as “references” – in other words, they view links as recommendations to visit a site. Because of this, more links will increase your web site’s rank in search engine listings.

This is all thanks to a process known as “spidering.” The way it works is that search engines basically send out automated robots or “spiders” to comb the Internet for data. When these spiders reach a link, they’ll follow it and then continue their search. So, the more links that lead to your websites, the more spiders that will find and index your site, making it more popular on search engine rankings.

Another in the list of important search engine optimization rules is to check your status. It’s not enough to simply use SEO methods on your site – you’ve got to make sure they’re working. If not, you’re just wasting your time… and who has time to waste these days? You should check your page rank, and frequently check to ensure the keywords you’re focusing on are still relevant.

One tool that can help in this process is known as web analytics. Web analytics programs can give you a wide variety of data that can help you further customize your SEO plan. For instance, web analytics can tell you which keywords are bringing people to your website, how many people they’re bringing, and through which search engines. If you sell a product or offer a service to users who sign up, it can also track which parts of your site are most effective at converting visitors to buyers.

Search engine optimization is far more complex that these three basic concepts, but they will provide you with a solid foundation. For more information, there are a number of resources on the web to maximize your SEO. In the mean times, these search engine optimization rules will serve you well.

Why You Should Use SEO Copywriting Services

It's always important to make sure your clients understand what it is they're looking at, whether it's a pamphlet at your office or the home page of your website. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) copywriting services provide writers who will take the information you give them and create the article, blog, or web text that your clients will easily find and understand. By describing your target group the writers will be able to create work that can be read and enjoyed by the people that come to your site so that they'll stay longer. If you specify keywords for your site, they'll also place them in effective places throughout the content so your site can climb its way into the top results from search engines.

Some companies may not realize that when they are selling a product that's geared to a certain group of people, the way they explain what their product is can be just as important as the product itself. Using college level terms when describing a product that is appealing to teenagers can cost you business. Copywriters will not only use any information you give them but also research your product so that your website is designed for the consumer’s ease of use. The longer a customer stays at your page, the more likely they are to make a purchase.

A good flow to the writing is just as necessary as appropriate language. The writers that SEO copywriting services provide are professionals who understand the English language and know how to keep your content interesting and enjoyable to read. No one wants to read sentences that sound as if a robot is talking, so your site should avoid that at all costs. Fortunately, the writers are real people, not robots, so you can rest assured they can get the job done.

Keyword placement is used for getting your site noticed on search engines. Search engines use a certain pattern when finding sites that match what the user is looking for and knowing where to put the keywords in your website's text can make or break your site. If people can't find your site, they can't learn about your product, let alone buy it! Writers will provide thorough research of the keywords you should use and where in your text they should go. The end result: search engines will have you high on their search page results list.

There are many companies on-line that provide these services. Prices will vary depending on the length of text that you need done, the amount of keywords you'd like put in, and of course the provider you chose to go with. Most sites will allow a consultation where they'll look at your site and tell you what to improve if you need to. A good tip: since these are SEO copywriting services that you're looking for, if you find they’re name at the top of the search results page, you can safely assume they do a good job.

Discover The Secret To Specific Campaign Internet Marketing

Whether you’ve already got a campaign internet marketing plan in effect or you’re just starting out, it’s vitally important for you to understand what your target market wants. This is true of any marketing campaign, whether it’s online or at the small store on the corner.  And it’s never been truer of the niche businesses online today.

When you have a business aimed at a certain target market, identifying that target market is the most important first step. But once you know whom to market your products or services to, where do you go from there?  Aside from just getting yourself in front of your target market, how do you better narrow things down to appeal to those within that market who might want or need your product or service now?  With a campaign internet marketing plan that knows what your customers want and appeals to them on that level.

So you already know your target market.  Whether your target market is made up of pet owners, whether they’re people in the market for new electronic equipment, or they’re people who want to make money online, you have to figure out what exactly they want within those general groups in order to get to this level of detailed campaign internet marketing.

A pet owner, for instance, will want to take good care of the pet’s health.  They’ll want their pet to live a long, happy life, have fun, be comfortable.  They’ll also want the pet to behave, and not make messes in the house by pottying indoors or chewing things up. Pick a want and appeal to it for especially effective specific campaign internet marketing. If you want to market potty training pads, books about potty training dogs or a CD-rom with an instructional video onboard, then take the customer’s desire to potty train a dog and appeal to it when promoting the products.

Break down why they might want what they want.  When it comes to potty training a dog, they want to keep their floors clean and avoid the sight and smell of a puppy mess indoors.  And maybe they want to be able to say how quickly and easily the dog was trained, to boast on the animal’s intelligence.  Use that in your campaign internet marketing. Advertise the product by pointing out that it can help them avoid odors and messes.  Point out how it will teach their dog to behave in a way that will help the customer avoid those things, and point out that it can do so more quickly than if the customer attempts to potty train the animal without it.

For campaign internet marketing when it comes to people who want to make money online, think of the reasons they want to do so.  Do they want to quit their job, take more vacations, spend more time with family? The best campaign internet marketing strategy is to take each reason and devise a way to convince the customer that your product or service will help them achieve it.

Benefit With Top Ecommerce Marketing Strategy

You might think that the best ecommerce marketing strategy is advertising.  Banner ads, one line text links and larger graphic ads on websites and in newsletters are one way to advertise.  It’s usually a fairly expensive way, though.  Especially if you have the graphics made to be eye-catching, like animations that are sure to get people to notice them.  But just because someone notices the person doing cartwheels on your graphic ad, that doesn’t mean they’re going to click it. And many people are so annoyed by ads, particularly moving, flashy ones, that they run software that automatically blocks them from ever having to see such things.  How are you going to reach them?

And even of those who see your ad, what percentage of them is likely interested in whatever you’re selling?  Like a billboard on a highway with everyone passing, not many are actually going to be looking for what’s in the advertisement.  So if you base your ecommerce marketing strategy on those kinds of ads, it’s kind of like throwing rocks into a crowd and hoping you accidentally hit someone.

There are techniques you can implement in your ecommerce marketing strategy, though, that are very focused and take much of the randomness and guesswork out of your plan.  Search engine optimization is an important part of your strategy.  This will help you design your content and web pages to get noticed by the search engines.  You’ll focus each page on certain keywords surrounding your business, and when someone’s searching on that phrase, your company comes up high in the search engine results.

At least that’s it in theory.  In reality, it’s not nearly so simple.  Just optimizing the content you already have will definitely help.  But the key to this type of ecommerce marketing strategy is to show new content on a regular basis.  This shows the search engines that the website is active and updated regularly with keyword rich content. As far as the search engines are concerned this makes one site more valuable and vital than another site with similar content that’s not updated as often. So an important part of your ecommerce marketing strategy should always be new content that’s also search engine optimized.

Four- to five-hundred words on each keyword is a good plan, at least to start with.  And care must be taken to make sure this content isn’t just attractive to search engines, but important to people, too. Gone are the days when site could list keywords or be filled with gibberish full of keywords just to get good rankings. Now it’s important that the content is there for more than just your ranking.  So your ecommerce marketing strategy has to address the quality of the content not just how many times a keyword might appear within it.

Where at one time a simply repetition of the keyword many times in a row might have attracted a good ranking, you should avoid this in your ecommerce marketing strategy because search engines recognize most of these tricks.

Amazing Technology and Your Online Marketing Strategy

If your online marketing strategy isn’t working, then you might need to introduce some technology to your website. If you current marketing promotions are going well, then you might be able to improve them even more with some added technology. Fancy bells and whistles on a website just for fun aren’t the type of technology that will help you increase sales and grow your business. But technology designed to do some very specific things can make quite a difference.

If you sell products, there are some website enhancements you’ll want to consider in your online marketing strategy. Of course, you must have clear pictures of your products, with more than one picture per product, ideally. You’ll want the customer to be able to click the picture and enlarge it to see the product even more clearly. There’s no real technology involved with that. But to give the customer the closest experience possible to actually being able to pick up and examine the product, look into the software that allows you to show 3D images on your website. The customer can click on the image or on a slider bar and drag to turn the image completely around so they can get a better feel for the object. This online marketing strategy is becoming more popular as companies realize how effective it is.

You could also look into the software that allows a customer to hold the mouse pointer over an image and zoom into it. This usually also allows the customer to move the mouse and see various parts of the object incredibly up close. Remember in your online marketing strategy that everything you do to bring the customer closer to the item they want to purchase will increase the likelihood of a sale. You’ll also want to ensure that your shopping cart and checkout system is as absolutely simple and easy as you can make it. Any slight hangup, delay or problem is just one more reason for the customer not to buy from you.

If you don’t sell products but services or information instead, don’t discount the addition of pictures to your website. Screen shots are particularly helpful when selling software, for instance. While adding pictures doesn’t require much technology, you’ll want to give your website more appeal by adding sound and video. When you’re selling a service, for instance, a video of someone explaining the service in a friendly, casual tone can go a long way toward giving a customer a positive impression. Even audio clips the customer can listen to that break down concepts into simple steps can be an important part of your online marketing strategy.

Video that shows screenshots and still shots as well as a person speaking or demonstrating something can be particularly effective. Get the software necessary to make these recording. Don’t forget how annoying it can be to have something suddenly start playing, though, so give the customer the option. Then add them to your website as part of your technology online marketing strategy.

Adwords Elite How to Make Money Online With a Home Study Course

Adwords Elite is a home study program put together by Jason O’Brien which will show you how to begin making $200 a day within one week of starting the course. Does it sound incredible? Well it gets even better. You’re not going to be working 14 hour days to earn this kind of money. Jason shows you how to do it in less than 2 hours a day.

Jason uses Google Adwords to drive traffic to affiliate sites. If this sounds like “mumbo jumbo” to you, read on anyway because it could make you a lot of money.

When you type a search term into Google’s search engine, there are two types of listings that pop up. One is the organic search results which Google’s computer programs have determined to be the best matches for your search terms. You can’t pay Google to get these rankings.

But, there are also ads that appear on the search page. These are also determined by the search term a user enters. But, an advertiser can buy these ads which are listed above the organic results and on the right hand side.

These ads have a 25 character headline and two 35 character lines of copy plus a link to a web site. That’s not much space to get your point across.

Yet some people have mastered the art of short copy and they turn it into empires.

They do this by promoting affiliate products. Affiliate marketing is simply connecting buyers to sellers. The seller pays you a middleman fee to drive traffic to their site. In the case of some digital products, the middleman fee is up to 75% of the total purchase price.

Adwords Elite is a complete guide to conquering Google Adwords using affiliate marketing strategies.

Many beginners find that they lose money using pay per click techniques such as Adwords. They either get no clicks at the price they are willing to pay or they get too many clicks that don’t convert into sales. Either way, you’re pouring money down the drain.

Adwords Elite helps you to zero in on the best converting keywords. You’ll learn how to filter out the losers. You’ll also learn how to write ads that people can’t help but click on.

There’s a little known technique for getting higher rankings while paying less than the advertisers under you. Adwords Elite reveals this secret for the first time.

The best part about Adwords Elite is that it provides a step by step plan that anyone, no matter how much experience they have, can follow to make money right away with Google.
