Although I really enjoy my job, I'm preparing to hand in my letter of resignation. There are several reasons for this, but the biggest and most important one is that I want to spend more time with my kids. They're still young (not even in preschool yet), but I already feel as though I'm missing out on everything when I drop them off at daycare every morning, so I want to put my career on hold for a while. The problem is we can't afford to lose my entire salary, which is why I'm looking for ways to work online and make money before I quit.

They run web stores and sell stuff on eBay, which is great for them, but not something I'm interested in. I've seen calls for people to teach everything from grant writing to photography, foreign languages, parenting and childcare, GED test preparation, and more.

These options are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to legitimate ways to work online and make money. For example, I've also seen telecommuting positions available in areas like customer service, high school and college tutoring, and virtual personal assistants, so I'm confident I'll be able to find something soon.
